Now that I got your attention :) (sparknotes: fuck entitled people)

What the hell is going on with people these days? I know some people actually use these sites for legitimate things(I've donated before) but so many, if not the majority seem to be lazy entitled cunts who are demanding the world give them free shit because they're special.


On newschoolers alone have seen somebody's cunt friend that deserved a $50,000 italian bass because "she fell in love with it" and her teacher said "She would never get the parts she wanted on the bass she had".

Some gaper kid who wanted 10k to build his shitty tiny house. he was going to put a wallride on the side and rail on top so he could make it less functional as a house and pretend that he actually had the ability to even hit said features.

Some bitches that wanted several thousand to buy sunglasses from alibaba at wholesale prices so they could make a bunch of money without having to invest anything.

Then some entitled lying bitches that wrote a whole essay about their grandfather making watches when he lived with santa at the north pole and he passed down his skills to his grandkids that were making them now AKA buying them wholesale from alibaba. 12k for that shit?

It is pathetic the levels that people will stoop to in order to get some quick cash for nothing. A guy I know concocted some pathetic, piece of shit sob story, and asked for $30,000 to do nothing. Thirty fucking grand.

Alas he got about $100 from a couple of hoodwinked friends. He thought there was a slim chance that it could work, so he can go fuck himself.

At least there seems to be a bit of prevailing common sense with some of these, so that is a silver lining of sorts.

CaseyThis guy at my work is always posting in our employee classifieds to donate to his adoption. Which is like, I hope that goes well for you and all but pay for your own kids. And also, once you get the kid home with you the fundraiser is over. Buy your own food.

These other people I am kind of friends with did a gofundme for their vet bills. For whatever reason that was annoying to me. I think mostly because I had a bunch of vet bills and just sucked it up, but also its no secret they have a lot of money and were just pawning their bills off on their facebook friends for no apparent reason.


I don't mind some of the vet ones too much. I can understand literally not having the money to pay for snuggles and not wanting to put him down. That feeling of desperation.

The fact that they actually had decent money though? Fuck them. Seriously Fuck them. That really bothers me.

I have seen a lot of really shitty GoFundMe things out there. There's way too many people just asking for money for the sake of asking for money.

I don't know if anyone else has had the same thing happen to them, but I still have to say to this day the worst one I have seen would have to be an Ex GF asking people for money to have a kid with a guy that she cheated on me with and then they found out he has a problem with making children. Maybe I'm an asshole for thinking they can save up $10,000 on their own rather than asking lots of strangers for money just so they can have a baby of their own instead of adopting. Maybe I was just a little pissed off that my mom donated money to help an EX GF have a baby with a guy she cheated on me with multiple times and later married.

Sorry for the bit of a shitty life story.



Other than that one story the ones that annoy me most are people wanting me to fund them for trips or doing activities that people normally just save money for. The main reason I don't fund people for going on those trips or events or whatever is because I feel they will appreciate it more if they earn it. Not to mention it pisses me off how I normally find them; in the comments section of random Facebook post's, and on random pages.

As other people have stated they are getting pretty good at policing themselves for shitty GoFundMe reasons.

"My parents didn't buy me a car, and I need one so buy me a car" Was another one posted on the first page. This shit is the definition of entitlement.

They are entitled to have a car, go see phish whatever. Instead of needing to work for it, or sacrifice other things to make it happen, the world simply owes it to them now.

Inb4 you're just butthurt because you launched one to go to europe or something and nobody donated.

SUPER FUNNY. After reading this thread I was at my parents house eating dinner last night and a girl knocked on the door asking for money to go to Argentina later in the summer (with her mom trailing nearby in a black Lexus SUV).

My parents are poor as shit, old ass cars in our driveway, our house is dingy as hell and yet this little girls mom has the audacity to come to someone who obviously doesnt have much money and ask to send her daughter to south america???

If i would have been the one to answer the door the little girl would have most likely left in tears... :[

Lol, did you not look at any of the ones posted in this thread? People don't have a clue. Just "I want this, but I don't want to work for it and I deserve it now". Also they deserve the best. If they're going on a trip you should pay for them to have the best trip. It they're getting a car it should be a great car. Etc. If these people had to use their own money they'd be budgeting things out. I can't really afford this but I could afford that. Instead since it's other people paying their way, shoot for the fucking moon.

I think for those who have legit reasons for raising money (medical bills, etc) something like gofundme is just a super easy one-stop place for people to send money, rather than dealing with money orders or mail or stuff like that, particularly if you have friends/family from around the world. I'm willing to bet most of these are set up for that reason, not because they are asking or expect money from strangers.

For those who don't have a legit reason for raising money, I don't even know what to say... It blows my mind.

We get that though. I'm not even hating on the site. People have used it for all kinds of good causes. If somebodies house burned down, there will be one up with money pouring in from all over right away. Giving the people a chance to get back on their feet.

I've seen some really legit ones.

That said the trend is a bunch of lazy entitled people using it because they think they deserve everything, and they don't want to work for any of it. And it could be "most" of them but it would be a very small majority honestly. There are a ton of kids using it to beg for handouts. The worst thing is they don't even think of it for begging. "I want to go to spain, and I don't want to work or save any money, and I deserve to go now."

They're just getting what they're owed by the world in their eyes sometimes. IT's fucking crazy.

I hit like 15 of them. I was crushing it so hard. The married couple was solid. They didn't post anything just that they wanted money so I gave them a page long tragic back story about love, life and the pursuit of happiness in America. It was truly touching. Unfortunately gofundme wants to make money so I was seen as an undesirable.

for anyone thats getting their panties all twisted and bunched up over us raggin on gofundme/kickstarters, we aren't against the idea of being charitable and generous, a lot of us have actually donated our own hard-earned dollars to causes which mostly explains our reasoning behind our hate of these stupid things.

we are not against people donating to causes/people at all. Be as generous as you want. However, you guys cannot seriously sit there and say that there isnt an abuse of these kinds of services nowadays. Obviously exceptions exist in every part of the world, but a lot of these people begging for money for trips and leisurely stuff are MORE than able-bodied to go out and actually save money for the trip, and are also just as willing to do so as they are willing to bother people for money.

Its just a waste of resources and services that could have been used to help out a family, maybe donate to someone who is ill and cannot afford medical payments, or basically anyone that actually needs and deserves the outside help, not some broke college kid who doesnt want to spend their own money on trips.

If only there was some way to like perform tasks that other people deem valuable in exchange for money. If you repeated that process enough times you could, at least in theory, use that money to get stuff that you want.

This sounds pretty revolutionary. People with good ideas for services/products could form some kind of group of people with a talent for performing that task or making that product and have some sort of formal arrangement where they would give those people money on a regular basis and in return they would do whatever it is a pre-determined number of times. Maybe even provide premises and equipment for the people to do whatever it is they do?

I dunno though. Can't see it catching on. Too many people prefer "something for nothing" as a model instead these days.

I kind of like my car though. I'd be scared to break it. Maybe I will though. I'll post up if I do. It would be worth it for spring time to start bouncing down one of the lanes in the lot in the morning. Giant fucking waste of money but i guess if other people pay for it that's the whole point right?

I've seen so many bad ones. I'm in a band and I need $$$$$ for the best guitar. I want to take a road trip but I haven't saved any money so pay for it all for me. I want this, I "need" that.

Something about the people just brings me a warmth, passion, and deep feeling of connection with the human race.
