I'm actually very offended by that. When I was 17 I was diagonsed with Ulcerative colitis condition. Which made any exercise very painful and I slowly had to stop skiing, playing sport and moving all together from this disease. Slowly over time, the internet and gaming became my safe haven. They're the only places where I can do what I enjoy without being in mass amounts of pain. I've become rather over weight and there's no possible chance of me ever shedding that weight. Im studying to be a nurse so here goes nothing...
1. Ulcerative colitis is a treatable AND curable condition
2. If UC kept you from exercising, I dont even feel bad for the fact that you're obese because thats pathetic and just makes you sound like a bitch.
3. UC often causes weight loss... not weight gain
4. Ive seen pictures of you and I know you're not obese so Im guessing you also don't even have UC.
Next time you lie on the internet in order to make people feel bad for you, maybe try Chrohn's disease. It might be a little more convincing.

I went to a christian school until i was in 5th grade and grew up christian, I bailed on religion when I got to high school because I realized it was as fake as santa clause.
As someone said in a different thread, faith is good, teaching people to act kind and caring is good, but religion is not. Most religions are a scam for tax free money, after being around mormons for the past 8 years it is oh so clear how religion is all about money. Did you know mormons give 10% of their salary to the church? no matter what, its fucking insane dude.
We as a society need a new way to teach morals and ethics that don't include some book of fake stories and a creating a huge following of sheep like you guys, giving money to people who run your church so they dont have to have a real job.

Colitis ulcerosa can cause weight loss, not obesity. It wouldn't hurt with exercising, hell exercise is recommend because in 60% of the people with UC or Crohn the cytokines that are part of your body's inflammatory response may change how your body breaks down old bone and creates new bone, leading to osteoperosis. You two need to recognize that a lot of external factors have guided you to these positions you now hold steadfastly. You may not remember, but there were infinite environmental affects that shaped you, and continue to shape you, based on the household you live in.
If you had gone out into the world, tried some new things, saw and understood some new perspectives, and decided that your original beliefs were best, then great! However, neither of you have done that.
And milk, you bring up such interesting philosophical points but in such stupid ways. One of the most interesting things to me is that we can convince ourselves that something - science or otherwise - is truth! Our scientific laws could be so myopic and shitty beyond the dimensions that we can observe. You're absolutely right that science is not universal law. You're right that people have to believe that our "science" is true (although science does take it one step farther than religion by providing observable, repeatable results). We have no idea what universal law might be, and even if we attempt to describe the universe, there may always be something more behind our grasp, another aspect to reality we can't sense or test or understand.
However, science doesn't have to be universal law to be important in these discussions. For all intents and purposes, science IS law. As far as we can sense and test, our science is valid. For every application on NS that you've ever argued the legitimacy of science, it has been valid. No human being, no human technology, and no human issue or problem exists outside of that realm.
So to argue that science as we know it is not absolute truth with respect to current issues is a lost cause. It's a really interesting discussion, and certainly one that is worthwhile. However, it will not prove any of your points and will only make you seem like an idiot because it's wildly irrelevant.
That discussion is also not applicable to the validity of religion, but that's a different story.
