being first year of production doesn't really matter, im sure they put in at least a season of testing/R&D before marketing... I am think the assumption of shittyness is that, if they are replacing the mastermind, then they are going to be a price point ski. Not necessarily a shitty ski, just marketed more towards the entry level/ people who dont get on the hill very often/ people who buy things because it has a cool graphic or name. Someone who skis hard and often will be looking for new skis before the season is over.
