Fake afterbang vs real style

idk if its just me or not, but ive seen a couple edits lately where some people were going bananas over the "style" of the riding. whereas, i thought 70% of the bang was forced, or not smooth, or whatever.

like am i just picky about the afterbang or does this fake arm swing bug you too when people call it style.

or is just these pain meds im on for my wisdom teeth.

it's personal taste, freestyle skiing is basically just dancing on two pieces of sliding wood/hybrid materialz. all afterbang is forced unless you have never watched skiing, the extreme examples are people who are so self conscious about looking like a hot ryder that they unconsciously fling their arms and effeminately let their wrists go limp. I'm all for it though, it's beautiful but it's something to laugh at if you're an outsider.

Some of it were good, but the guy in inspired tee was way too forced.

Holy shit... that was almost spastic at times. That didn't look like afterbang, that looked like awkward flailing.

dunno but some people just fucking got it (simmen gjelsvik, sickest armfterbang in the game), and some force it and it looks super cramped and stupid

the only bad style is fake style (Grosso's Loveletters, if anyone is familiar with skateboarding)

but to get style, at some points you have to force some things to become natural, but it doesn't suit anyone

plus, style isn't worth shit if you don't do sick tricks... fuckin tired of casabon-ish skislides to switch and trannyfinds... do some real tricks pls k thx bye

If you completely stomp the trick, it will look cool and not forced.

Heavy head and armterbang are often times so forced that it looks hidious.

There are only a few names who can pull off armterbang off correctly.

Many people in this thread are confusing the terms "forced" and on purpose". All after bang is on purpose, most if it is forced. Inspired kid in that molesquad edit looked like he wants to be a ballerina.

Just tried to find a pic for comparison and realized that ballerinas have much more control and pose.

Go and look up the original definition of afterbang. Skiers somehow misinterpreted this around 2007 and the rest is history.

This thread needs John Symms's input.

I think most of it is somewhat decent, except the times where kids dont stomp a trick and still try to force some kind of wierd body convulsion that resembles afterbang. If youre going to fake it, at least make sure its actually afterbang

The only up and coming that has really caught my attention is keegan kilbride. hes the difference between real style and forced style. the actual perfect example of real inherent style is jon brogan, but no one since him has even come close to an incredible natural style. Keegan is the only person i've seen on the web that seems to have the same thing going as brogan.

Keegan's style is clean af. Same with Carson Kerr and Rals White. They can truely pull off armterbang.
