Choosing a ski

Da' nollies are one of the best skis on the market.

Blends are cool, but Line has questionable durability. But I'm pretty sure that the blend is a good ski.

It sounds like you want a nice soft ski, and the Slats do not fit the bill. They are pretty stiff and heavy. But I have heard that they are pretty durable.

Deciding on what ski to get for the upcoming season while the deals are hot. Looking at the Icelantic Danollie, Nordica Soul Rider, Line Blend and possibly the Rossi Slat. And I'm curious what size you would suggest. Im' 5'8 and 175lbs . Just curious what some fellow skiers opions are.

You would want sizing somewhere around 155-175 it depends if you want it bigger or smaller. I like a tad smaller ski because I like to spin fast, I only ski park, and my form isnt great. Ski wise I have heard great things about the Nordica Soul Riders! I have never been a big fan of line skis after my friends pair snapped. The afterbangs and chronic I hear are good although I haven't heard much about the blend. Try to pick a ski that you think is right for you and will last long, Don't worry about the design, that should be a add on but it shouldn't determine buying skis. All skis will break if your park skiing right! Hope this helps!

I rode Rossi slats at 181cm this season. I'm a bit under 5'7" and closer to like 140-150. They're a lot of fun, I love how wide they are (97mm underfoot). They are a bit chattery and somewhat hard to control at times, but that could be attributed to my edges being worn down from hitting rails and such. I am a big fan of them, though on my underfoot I did break a few pieces off the edge (probably 2-3 inches). So they're a fun ski fersure, if you're looking for a wide ski that floats around the park and the entire mountain. However, and it may be because I hit urban with them/am a reckless skier, the edges didn't seem to hold up. That being said, I would recommend them. But it's park skiing, my skis only last about a season or so. Also, I got 181 cm but they measure closer to 178, after the rocker/camber profile is introduced.

I have the Line blends now for 2012. They're mint still and still a have a lot of life left. I'd recommend them highly if you want to ski pow/park/all-mountain w/o having a lot of different setups. That being said I'm looking at the soul riders this season as well. I use 173 and I'm taller than you but I'd recommend anything from 173-177. Good luck. If you get the soul riders let me know how they perform.

I highly recommend the Da Nollie. The durability from Icelantic is top notch along with the warranty. These things are soft and buttery and are definetly more of a park oriented ski than an all mountain/park ski. I would recommend getting the 171 but if you are still growing and reach like 6'0 by the mid season size up to 181 because of your weight. Really personal choice though if you want a longer or shorter ski. The Blend may be your next option as is more versatile but definently less durable and heavier than the Da Nolliie.
