Weird, guess I'll have to ask him. I just know he doesn't eat pork and stuff but does drink. Although I will say that he and his family are die hard Muslim on the religion side, but more on the cultural aspect, so maybe that's why as well.

I'm simply stating I've learned from other people's mistakes. And my religious views say not to drink. I just believe In my religion and so I'm gonna stay faithful. Almost all my football friends smoke weed and drink alcohol at parties. I'm no stranger to it, I've been exposed to it nearly my whole life. I've just made the decision, that I'll never drink. Simple as that. It doesn't make everyone else who drinks a bad person.

So I tend to have a bit of a different perspective on this. I personally do not drink or smoke unless its a special occasion because i'm already dealing with a lot of mental health issues as it is. Some people really do feel as though they are in an altered state of mind, and some of us do not handle it all that well. Some will say that it helps make friends in social settings, but are these connections really genuine? There is also a lot of peer influence that goes into this especially if you are in school. Everyone is unique and can be chill in their own way regardless. Im personally not going to judge you for drinking as long as you respect my choices. I personally have found that substance use is quite prevalent in the ski community and it has actually been an issue making connections within it. If you dont drink but still enjoy good times, keep being yourself.
I enjoy drinking for the hangover.
An entire day of withdrawal, migraine style headache, sore muscles , dehydrated ligaments, throwing up on my boots before work, while making plans to do it again ...
