Tips on how to slide a rail

I am on the mountain racing team and i am starting this thread to help all you rail gurus out there. Now i know you should use twintippers or snow puppies to slide rails , but i have discovered that by putting a 4.269 degree bevale on my rossi cut 10.4 race skis with a gummy stone gives me a good chance of sliding a rail. I have also found (thanks logan age 12 gore mountian rail god)that by looking at the end the rail it is easier to slide. If you want to slide rails as good as jonny mosley(olympic gold medalist and diner roll inventer) then follow my tips. By using a gummy stone and looking at the end of the rail you will be able to slide it better. Also I can be found at my local gore mountain where there park contains one 12 ft. a frame rail, a shark fin 300 ft. booter, and a 6 1/2 ft. flat bar(Which trouble sliding as of late due to the long length and heighth(6in.)) cheers

here's how you slide a rail: watch someone else do it, try to do what they do. Fall, repeat untill you get it. Experience is the only thing that will do it. We can sit here and type out step by step what is involved in sliding a rail, but untill you actually attempt it, that information is meaningless.

my two tips:
1. buy a balance board. get good on the balance board.
2. actually do get your edged beveled down a degree or 2. you won't catch your edges as often, and, on top of that, it keeps the sharp part off the rail a little more, and helps your edges stay sharper, longer. not to mention makes carving/ripping more fun.
