Snowflex Camp Thread

With less than a month till week 1 starts, I figured it would be sick to see who's going!

My friend and I are heading down in the middle of week 1 and staying till the end of week 2 if anyone is down to shred together. Pretty stoked!

I've never been to any other camp. It was dope though last year! savvy_ski and I had a private coach to ourselves, you ski twice a day, it's consistent, and really damn fun all around. There's a lot of little kids but thats gonna happen at camps like this. Theres a lot for kids and a lot for older teenagers to do though. They've got a nice tramp, airbag, and skatepark which you can spend a lot of time at during the day. There's a ton more activities that you could do but I don't remember all of them. It's really hot in virginia so you ski in the morning and at night when it is coolest and then you have the whole afternoon to do whatever activities that you want. If you're on the east coast it's definitely worth it!

By consistent I mean the surface of snowflex is consistent. It's definitely an advantage when learning new stuff. The material takes a little bit of getting used to when landing switch, speed checking/carving, and stopping but once you get it, it's great. You can sort of butter/slip on take off so spinning is a bit easier in my opinion on snowflex.

a few runs. Carving/speed checking, stopping, and landing switch gave me some trouble but it's not too bad. The biggest thing is holding an edge - it's hard as shit and usually if you try to turn like you would on snow, you'll slip out. You gotta ease into your turns, and sometimes if you only need to dock a little bit of speed, just pizza. It's easier and you won't eat shit haha. You're probably better than me though so maybe you won't have those problems haha. 2-3 runs and you should be fine. I'll chill with ya up there and help you out if you need it, but you should do fine!

For landing switch, I can't tell you how many times I landed and then like tail pressed to by back haha. Sometimes the snowflex is sticky so you gotta be stable and have some forward pressure. If you land straight up and down you'll fly to your back but if you land too forward you're gonna slip out a bit. It takes some getting used to to find that spot!

2 to 3 runs isn't that bad, they have little sprinkler's to keep the snowlfex wet right? the water must feel good on a really hot day.

Yeah! they're like sprinklers/misters. It's pretty nice. I'll show ya some tricks with them I learned from last year for getting speed and stuff, it's just too hard for me to try to explain in words haha

Definitely. There's an airbag, tramp, and a ton of features. The jumps are perfect. The surface is padded underneath so falling isn't hard on your body.(just turf burn). Definitely would recommend! Week 2 is still open too!!
