Replying to Official Geography Thread

In honor of the high school class mate who thought Alaska was the country north of the US. Post your random facts about places you have visited and where they appear on a map. (Ski resorts and trail maps are part of this). Or post any interesting geography fact.

Ill start if off with my trip to the Bay of Islands on the northern tip of lake Huron in Ontario, Which just so happens to be in Canada, which just might be the country north of the United States.

Also Alaska is a State not a Country for those who are confused.
