Has anyone owned a 350z?

I've spent a lot of time in a 370z and just a bit in a 350 and I can say they are both great cars. As is the case with most Nissans they well built, powertrain is solid, both the 350 and 370 are sharp looking(Maybe the 370 a bit more...ok a lot more). In terms of its performance I say "meh" for both, I've seen better, but hey for the price it's a good car. There are a lot of aftermarket options for the 350 as well.

Why not a Volvo 240?

the 300 was waaaay cooler.....especially the twin turbo'd 300z. man that car was fun as fuck to drive.

350z isn't bad though. kind of heavy, but a decent vehicle. one of my friends drove one for a few years. personally, i wouldn't buy one. you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere.

I don't get your poll 3 fairly different cars. TCs are a glorified corolla so I would stay away from that option. Personally I'd go with a 350z never driven one but seems to be a pretty sweet car with lots of aftermarket stuff available. Just be careful buying used a car that many people just beat up.

You could get a better car for the cost of the cars in the poll, v6 mustang, well thats for bitches, TC is strying to sporty but its a 2 door corolla, needs to handle better. 350z is a good choice for these the 3.5 v6 sounds fucking sexy and it handles well. I do believe on top gear jeremy said it was very stiff but im not sure. Of the 3 Id go Nissan but you can get some better options.

Considering you said 350 and not 370, I'm guessing you're looking at a used one. And assuming you're of the same general age as most NSers, you're not looking at a low mileage used one. Nissans are great cars until they hit about 90k miles. They're not cheap to fix and they have multi-chambered catalytic converters, which tend to be the first things to go. Every time you have to get a cat fixed it's almost $1000. I own a 2000 Nissan Maxima and from 95k to the current 150k miles I've probably dumped close to $9,000 into it.

Just a warning that if the 350 you're looking at is riiiiiight around 85,000 miles, you've got just about 6 months before your pockets will be promptly drained.

If you're buying used and you want something with pickup on the cheap: buy domestic, or buy toyota.

Thanks for the info. I did more research and people did not have issues with the catalytic converters with the 350z. Issues o the z starts around 150k miles.
