Why do you ski?

Simple question. Why do you ski? Many of us have fell in love with this sport, but what made you decide to dedicate yourself to skiing? Is it for personal satisfaction, you grew up on it, get girlz...etc...?

i will play along and be nice on this one.

In my case my love of the sport definitely cam from my dad i was raised on a pair of planks and hopefully keep thrashing the mountain until i die. there is nothing better than the feeling of weightlessness that speeding down a powder covered hill on some wooden sticks creates. skiing is my drug and its the never ending joy that it brings me in my best and worst times that makes me love this sport more than anything else.

Because it's comfortable, affordable, and really safe. Because it's nice and cheap. Because the weather is the best, and you don't have to drive much.

Mostly, though, it's because it really impresses women when you ski well. Just gets them going. They can't get enough of it.

If it was actually like this the sport wouldn't be the same. I love skiing because of some of the boundaries you have to overcome and then you're left with the raddest people having the time of their lives.

I just love the feeling of getting up early and driving to the hill, blasting some music, getting stoked and having fun. Way better than how most people spend their winter days.

Whoa? I can't imagine you! How can you make things smooth when your heart is out on it? What a heartbreaking story! Anyway, I ski because I have the heart for it. I feel free, love the fresh air, the mountain view, love the snow, love the ride. Everything!

One of my first ever ns posts was "How to get sponsored" At the time it seemed like a great idea. HA, I was wrong. I am very much in love with this sport and it has helped through a lot. I've spent many days on the slopes clearing my head. It has become therapeutic for me. Also a big shout out to Stephen Draper for the clarification and help with that thread!

I don't have any friends who ski, and I live in Southern California so I have a pretty decent drive wherever I go.

With that being said I love waking up earlier than I do for work, grabbing a coffee and a burrito and driving a couple hours to bear, hit a bowl, take a dump, and hit the slopes. Such a process and such a hit on my wallet but once you're on that first lift... Well that feeling is indescribable. Something about you on the mountain, even when it's 70 degrees and the mountains closing in march I can still feel free bombing down a slushbowl of a run. There's no such thing as a bad day skiing

Hi I'm KENDOZER, I got hooked on skiing about 20 years ago. Went to treatment about 6 times and insurance says they wont cover my treatment plan after my latest relapse. I'm kinda fucked up, skiing is the only thing that makes me happy besides booze, ganja, girls, and gambling. Thanks for giving me the chance to open up OP.
