JibbaTheHuttwhat a fucking stupid thread.
this.
Who cares. I destroyed my brain learning tricks. If people can learn new tricks and still be able to form sentences and not drool all over themselves I say good for them. I learned backflips without a helmet too. Somebody get me a cookie.
Seriously though, I've never hit an airbag but damn are they a great invention. If we could get more of them out there(which is happening), better/more consistent jump building(again happening) and more accessible coaching(gettin there but could use work imo) that's fucking legit.
I could build jump over a punji pit to learn my tricks but it doesn't somehow validate the risk in the end. I'm not saying there's nothing cool about throwing a big trick on a gnarly jump/ rail/ whatever, just that there's no point in hurting yourself learning something in a sketchy sense if you have better options.
Hell, I didn't have access to a park when I learned flips and most of my other jump tricks. Had I had access you bet your ass I would have been hitting some more proper booters. It might have been harder to learn some of the stuff on sketchier jumps, but it doesn't make me any better.
Some people have more access to better shit. That's life. It's all about taking what you've got, making the absolute most out of it, and never worrying too much about how good you are/what other think of you to stop having fun.
Get on your skis, grab some friends, and have fun. Whether that's shredding some huge booters in the park, or getting down on a hand built booter at the sledding hill, as long as you're having a good time, fuck the haters.
/rant ish thing type deal about things and stuff
