I swear, ever since like 5 years ago, every time I watch the Sharks play, I think of a red named dude on an internet forum I've never met who is passionate about the team.

The Sharks are looking damn good right now. Pavelski, Couture, Thornton has still got it, and Martin Jones is turning into quite the story too. Shit, and how money has Joel Ward been? They've really got a great team game going right now. Everyone is playing their part, and really exceeding expectations in my opinion.

despite the loss, Vasilevskiy is easily the reason it wasn't a blowout. soo many chances the pens had, its miraculous they got 2 past him.

Awesome battle between these two teams! Vasilevskiy has played out of his mind. Crazy to see a 21 year old handle the pressure that well. Same goes for Murray. Both a year younger than me, and I was sweating it out just watching the games at home.

This next series is going to be some great hockey. It's going to be more physical and faster. I can't wait until it starts! Let's Go Pens!

ooof, an avg. 2.3 viewer rating for this years finals which is like 3rd behind ANA/OTT and CAR/EDM in terms of worst ones in the past like 15 years. I guess Lebron and Steph Curry going head to head in the finals again probably has something to do with that. and no one really giving a shit about hockey stateside.

also this rookie roster for the world cup is just silly, McDavid going up against a pretty damn stacked Team Canada? lol

one badass tough dude, he could have easily just rotted away like most old folks with issues in their homes but he was still showing up to regular season games and team functions even with poor health. He has the stats to be considered the greatest of all time. Didn't ever get to meet him but my cousin did and said hes probably the most amazing player you'll meet, a pure legend with the demeanor of a kind old grandpa. See you later, Mr. Hockey. Youre definitely the greatest in my book.

Also, 7 game SCF series pls.

I stayed away from this thread. Refrained in hopes that some sort of "don't talk about fight club" rule would apply and somehow my team would finally pull it off.

Fair play to the Penguins. They were way too fast for San Jose in this series.

They ran out of luck, and ran into a team with too much depth and health while losing key players themselves to injury and not being able to recover quickly enough.

The one solace I can take is that at least San Jose got as far as they did. I'm sitting here in a fairly somber mood on an early winter's afternoon in Auckland, thinking of what could have been had things kept going San Jose's way. I'm not even frustrated. I'm not even angry. I'm not even sad. Just kinda numb at this point.

At least we boo'd Bettman right to his face in our own arena.

Lets go Sharks.

That had anybodys name all over it but him... he didn't even have a goal in the series did he? He wasn't tacking on points in the first three rounds, and he didn't have some great series. Was he dangerous? Yes.. but so was anyone.

Pittsburghs defense was the real con Smythe winner. The nhl media just threw it at Crosby because of hype...

Phil was the most consistent the whole way through the playoffs. Not taking anything away from Crosby, but I would have loved to see Kessel get the CS

As sean said, its better if the leagues poster boy gets it from a media standpoint but there are a handful of other players that deserved it. Letang saved them on that one play, but the d kept them to like 2 shots in like 20 mins. Absolute dominance.

I wouldn't have been surprised to see Kessel, Letang or Murray get it. I thought Crosby deserved it just as much, though. He showed tremendous leadership throughout the playoffs and was skating so well. He wasn't letting anyone get in his head like past years. He was creating a lot of opportunities every game. The huge moment for me was when he drew the play up on the fly in OT in game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final that lead to Sheary scoring the game winner
