VinnieFBettman would never do that. He's such a fucking goof.

lol
Barefootin_Fiendso what's the scoop with Mike Richards & the Kings (formerly)? WTF could he possibly be under investigation for in Canadia that would lead to LA abruptly terminating his contract? I mean, they haven't terminated Voynov's contract and he's on trial for domestic violence. Richards hasn't even been charged with anything, so.......WTF?

DeebieSkeebiessounds like a fierce legal battle between LA and the NHLPA is about to pop off. Whatever it may be, he is definitely not dumb enough to realize this might be grounds for a wrongful termination or some shit.
Idk, hopefully some law guru who is also a hockey fan can help us.
Barefootin_Fiendi know they saved a TON of cap space by getting rid of him....even though they're still taking a 1.32 million per year cap hit on him.
I don't know though, it seems a little premature to me. Almost like they term'd his contract more so because of the cap issue than the actual "incident" itself....whatever the fuck that may be. no way this guy was smuggling a kilo across the border....
DeebieSkeebiesSaad being traded is actually out of the damn blue. Freeing up cap space to get sharp a contract?
.frenchyyeah didnt he say he'd take a pay cut just to stay on the hawks? :/

DeebieSkeebiesI don't recall him being awful in the playoffs either, definitely could be wrong though. interesting offseason already to say the least. liking some of detroits signings as well as draft picks, first time they haven't drafted a swede. definitely doesn't mean shit when it comes to player development, though.I was still talking about richards there. Dont even get me started on Saad. He was supposed to re sign, but got dollar signs in his eyes. Have fun playing in shit hole columbus. Good luck maintaining those good numbers without a good supporting team.
scratchproteenSaw something he was detained by border patrol for having oxycotin with no prescription.
Going to be interesting to see how this gets handled.
Barefootin_FiendWow. That seems like a pretty bs reason to term a contract. If that doesnt scream alterior motive, idk what does.

plyswthsqrrlsthis offseason is fucked up
Barefootin_FiendLosing Sharpie is a huge bummer for the hawks. Dude is a banger fucking player...especially in the playoffs. Had 5 goals and 10 assists on this cup run. Last cup run in '13 he had 10 goals and 5 or 6 assists (??). Yeah, he's getting older, but by no means does the dude not have skills. That experience is going to be hard to replace.
I'd much rather get rid of fucking Bickell. Yeah, he came up big in 2013, but hardly anything to speak of in 2014, and was fucking non-existent in this run. Dude had ZERO goals and 5 fucking assists in 2015 post. Shit's weak as fuck for a guy with a 4 million dollar cap hit. Not to mention that he only had 14 goals and 14 assists in the regular season...compared to Sharp's 27 goals and 37 assists. Bickell is the biggest waste of money on that fucking roster right now.
BumblesteezePretty happy to get Zack Kassian. I really liked Prust, but his injuries are definitely catching up to him.
.frenchydude could possibly of had more heart than any other hab on the team, very debatable though. that hurt today when my phone gave me the notif
-emile-it's a great trade, Kassian is 24 Prust is 30 : Kassian > Prust
Kassian had more points last season in 40 less games : Kassian > Prust
Kassian is 6'3 Prust is 6'0 : Kassian > Prust
Kassian has a 1.75M cap hit, Prust has a cap hit of 2.5M : Kassian > Prust.
Kassian > Prust

baethovenAs much as I hate to see Saad go, the deal could work out really well for us. The return ended up being 4 NHL ready players for well under the price Saad is going to settle for. Including a 4th round and since 2010 the Hawks have gotten into a roll securing solid players deeper into the draft. (a-la Saad, Shaw, Kruger).
Anisimov and Dano will start next year. Anisimov is going to be the much needed 2C we've need for longterm. A 19 year old Dano paced a 50 point season in 35 games last year with Columbus. Kid's got a high ceiling so I'm excited to see what he can do.
With the addition of Tikhonov today it's safe to say the Hawks are becoming a Euro team. Panarin was going to be the first Russian player (not a goalie) since Samsonov in 07-08 to play for the Hawks, and now all of a sudden the hawks have 3.. I love my Russian hockey players, so I'm excited about this.
Fans have been up in arms with Bowman, but you have to respect the nuts it takes to trade away a player like Saad after promising his return (we'll still see how that plays out). If he locks down a formidable number 4 d-man, moves Bickell and Versteeg, I'll be happy with this offseason. All in all, at least next year will be fun to watch as a Hawks fan. Lots of competition between youth for top 6 spots.
