Rail Tricks that equal Jump Tricks

So i was thinking, what are some rail tricks that are equivalent to a jump trick. Its hard to explain but in my opinion, a 2 on to a down rail is equal to a rodeo 5. What are some others? Think of it in terms of difficulty, style, and like what tricks you would learn together if your rail game and jump game were equal

450 on is like a 540 because most 450 ons are just 540s with a little bit of rail contact.

I can't actually front 4 but I'm going to comment anyways on this subject so people of NS think I'm a sick park rat.

Yeah if you ask anyone who could 540 to 450 disaster any rail in the park most of them would fuck up. After spinning that much then hitting the rail, just throws you off balance so much.

Switch 270 on to switch or switch to front 2 are both like switch 3s. 270 on to front 270 of is like pencil 540.

You see I would disagree I have 450ed onto boxes and PVC rails but would not feel confident on a 5 on a mid size jump. I think it comes down to what you ski most. Most of my park ridin was learnt at a dome so all rails and no jumps, so personally I don't really think they compare

It's more difficult, but it's nearly the same thing. If you have big balls and can 540 then chances are you can at least do a shitty 450 on.

Backflip maybe, both are fairly simple but always crowd pleasers, and if non skiers ask you how good you are they dont care about what other tricks you can do besides the only jump trick in the world/backflips.

I think it comes down to what your doing it on. A 450 onto a flat box is not that hard and does not pose to much risk. A 540 on even a med size jump in my opinion has much more risk. But as I said before it's more what you ride most. If you constantly ride jumps a 5 may be pretty easy but for someone like me who never rides jumps really a 5 is much harder and more intimidating then a 450.

going off side of a rail lip = going up a jump lip and them coming down backwards in a snow plow

I think we both agree that doing a 540 with a piece of metal below you is harder than doing it on a smooth jump. I am just saying that in the ten years I have been skiing park and doing rail jams I have seen way more 540 taps than 450 into a smooth lock on the rail. It takes way more skill for someone to land 450 and then have some sense of control on the rail than to just ski fast, spin 450 and ding the rail.

I think the OP of this thread was thinking like "this trick is equal in difficulty to this trick" or something and I was thinking about which tricks I throw in a similar fashion on rails and jumps.

I like to do a lot of disasters, but disasters without greasing part of the rail are just shitty taps.

it depends on what you are using to judge some of the tricks. like for example doing a backflip is about as easy as doing a regular skier slide on a flat rail but my first backflip was bout as scary as doing my first 450 on to a rail

No, but where I'm from, there are just as bad rails as jumps. Jumps was cooler and more fun when I started out, didn't focus on the rail game. And it has just kept on going.

my rail game is 10 times better then my jump game.. I think it is easier to practice rails, like in the backyard but the only time u can really practice jumps is at the mountain in front of a bunch of people.

I know right, learned 2 on swap 2 out before penciled 5s and never even thought about going upside down at that point.
