Holy fuck, just rewatched revolver again and was completely blown away by Simon Dumont`s segment. He goes fucking massive all the time and clean as tits. Made me remember how absent he had been this past ski season which sucks, but I guess that`s how age and injuries work.. Anybody with some intel on where he's been?

Honestly Simon is the guy who got me in to freeskiing. More specifically it was that revolver segment. I remember watching that and thinking man i want to do that.hard to believe that was like 5 years ago.

I have all of those films. CLAIM alert: Pep gave me his VHS copy of Second Generation spring of 2002 in Mammoth. It was on this trip that I learned, by way of gossip, that Tanner and Jon hated each other, and that Boyd Easley was widely considered to be having an identity crisis (it was his hairband phase). I also remember the general consensus among Mammoth up-and-comers at that time that there was a ton of dead weight in the pro skier class (e.g., Phil Dion) and it was really arbitrary who got to break through and become a pro. I also remember being struck by how Pep, Rory Silva, etc. didn't care about filming each other. They would just crush it with no cameras, skiing for the sake of skiing, every day. In fact, Rory had a "bad attitude" and didn't care enough about getting shots when the cameras were around. It's crazy how much things have changed in the era of the edit, for better and for worse.

This is exactly what I wanted this thread to turn into. PBP was such a powerhouse back in the day and the newer crew from EDIAS was fucking sick. This thread made me rewatch Happy Daze too and I was completely blown away with how giant everyone was going. Rail game certainly has progressed at an immense rate too and its sick to watch something like that and then go straight to a stept urban segment from today.

I watched TRANSITIONS recently and Ski Porn from PBP and my goodness, whether Dumont is seen as an average guy or a douche like people say, hes gonna become a legend among our sport, I miss Tanner vs Simon at X Games. The dude inspired me so much to try and go pro since I grew up kinda like Simon did, a small kid that can impress the biggest people. He earned my respect early on and never let me down.

Sammy Carlsons shots in ski porn were really sick. If I remember right that was his break out movie were he really started making a name for himself.
