-benedettoYou mean people who have given up? That's their choice. Yeah Amerifat!
L_Bsome of us are gladly opposed to our self-inflicted fat identity.
I used to weigh 220, from watching what I eat and working out, I now weight 170. Anyone who says they can't lose weight either hasn't tried or hasn't tried long enough. I have no sympathy for someone suffering from a fixable problem.
saskskierThat's awesome and I mostly agree with you, but it's not always as simple as not trying or not trying hard enough.
Some people have medical issues that make it difficult to manage weight. Whatever.
Titus69reddit is for annoying 13 year olds that think they "troll"

I think a huge challenge many face with regards to losing weight and fixing diet is poverty and access to healthy food. Tons of poverty stricken, low income neighborhoods simply don't have grocery stores in them or nearby. Those people are forced to either bus/taxi/walk pretty significant distances to get to a grocery store. For lots of people, even that small extra expense is too much. When you add the fact that crappy, processed food is significantly cheaper than healthy food (fruits/veggies/meat/etc). You can get like two, three or even four 2l bottles of soda for the same price as 4l of milk and four bags of chips or who knows how many bags of ramen noodles for the same price as a lb of ground beef. When you are trying to stretch every last dollar, crappy, processed food is the way to go.
Systemic poverty is much more complicated to fix that just 'go get a job'. When you're worried about where your next meal is coming from, the last thing you are thinking about is nutritional value or counting calories.
louie.miragsI have had the opposite experience there. I just visit subreddits I am interested in and research topics and it works great. Topics like making edibles, camping, hammocks, hiking, festivals etc. Lot of great shit on their if you focus in on it. Subreddits where trolls get kicked or deleted.
Laurent.People get fat because intake > energy expenditure.
Even for those with medical issues, whom most have brought on themselves by getting fat in the first place and the actual diseases are far rarer then 25% of a population.
L_BThyroid issues have been proven to increase weight 10-15 lbs, and in extreme cases 20 lbs.
L_BI'm a broke black kid. I didn't even try to eat "healthier", I just ate much less junk food when I chose to eat it, and spent an equal amount of money buying pretty average groceries. And I worked out 6 days a week. Spent no extra money, in fact I probably saved money buy not buying more food than I needed. I chose to take the extra time to ride the bus to a real grocery store, I chose to work out and find pick up basketball and football games and run and skate until I was fit.
MinggI had 2 fat roommates and now I hate fat people.
shotvetso do you hate them because they are fat or because they are shitty roommates?
BigTownKidget that fat ass eheath to delete this thread. this is hate speech
msewardI disagree with fat shaming on the premise that alot of them are trying to improve their situatuions, which should be encouraged and not shamed.
i think there are two types of fat people.
I have a massive amount of respect for the very large people you see at the gym everyday because when you're that far down the road of obesity it takes ALOT of willpower and courage to go out in public and work out. I always tell people to shut the fuck up if they're laughing at fat person in the gym, because that person is at least trying to positively change their health
louie.miragsI occasionally feel bad for these types of fat folks because marketing schemes by companies must fuck with them. For example, diet soda will make you fat. Anything labeled "low-fat" is probably not good for you.
msewardNot just fat people fall for this marketing. Have you ever met a white girl? Lol, agree with you though.
louie.miragsI occasionally feel bad for these types of fat folks because marketing schemes by companies must fuck with them. For example, diet soda will make you fat. Anything labeled "low-fat" is probably not good for you. Actually, healthy fats are great for you and don't make you fat. There is so much mis-info out there sometimes they think they are doing it right but not getting anywhere. I say occasionally I feel bad because the times I don't I realize they are just trying to take short cuts.
I think the key is to eat as natural as possible and exercise. And do not treat it like a "diet". Make it your new lifestyle or it will fail. Because once you get off the "diet" you blow back up.
eheathI lol'd
I think people who think they need to "shame" fat people are fucking ridiculous, but im bias ;) I also ski and do other physical activities, so im not exactly the one being attacked, but I can sympathize. What's funny is everyone who 'fat shames' online would never say that to someones face, its quite childish really.
kung_powpowCome to Colorado, fat people don't even exist here. I was amazed when I went to Texas and Lousinana at the amount of obese people in comparison to CO
.Rybak.I hate fat people too.
S.J.Waren't you fat?
.Rybak.Yup. But if you read my second comment you will see what i mean.
S.J.WAhh I see, so you're working on your body.
Internets High Five, good work
.Rybak.Thanks!

90053exercise is overrated apart from walking, cutting sugar is key
Peter.yeah, your reddit experience is completely dependent on what subs you take part in. the main ones, pics, funny, all suck 95% of the time. a lot of the smaller ones are really cool communities
DeebieSkeebieskinda disappointed in the skiing subreddit, honestly. has the potential to be a cool community but there are too many twats that ruin the fun. go to any sweet POV edit on there and you'll find a few comments pissing and moaning about how "Reckless" and how much of a danger that skier is to people around them.
