Need a job! where do skiers work in the summer

do you guys have any idead for summer jobs im 16 and am looking for one. what do you guys do in the summer. i work in the rental shop in the winters but am really looking for a job. only one thing i will not do and that is fast food but i am up for anyone else

landscaping bitch and working at a golf course are common
but it's pretty far into summer now so it might be tricky to find a good job

i work at a bike shop and a groceey store. i enjoy the bike shop a lot because the owner's really chill and so are the people that work there. i just work at a grocery store for the money but it's alright

A little late to be looking for a summer job. Also you are 16, you don't have the most luxurious options. Work at a grocery store and make minimum wage.

you're 16. know what that means? you can contract to your neighbors and not pay taxes and nobodies gonna question it. get a lawn mower, go door to door offering to mow lawns for 10$ cheaper than their current provider. learn to do sprinklers. you'll be swimming in money comparably to other people your age if you do it right. that's what i did anyway and it worked out well.

Landscaping, mowing people's lawns, doing stuff for old people that they can't do. That's what I do in the summer and the money is great. Also a good workout and you can be your own boss

I worked fast food when I was 16 and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Now I paint all summer because not too many other people want to do it but you make a lot of money, you get a nice tan, and its not terribly hard, I would definitely recommend it. At this point I wouldn't be too picky.

Work at a restaurant as a busser, you can easily make bank off of tips during a busy shift. I'm doing that along with working at a summer camp and I'm hoping to earn enough money to buy a car.

When your old enough get into construction. It kinda keeps your body in good shape and you make a lot of money.

Honestly man your a little late to the summer job bandwagon but im sure if you look hard enough there is work to be had.

Back in the day I used to caddy on the weekends. Yea it sucks getting up at 6 am Saturday and Sunday...but I would get in 2 rounds of golf during the day, carry 2 bags on each round. It was a great workout.

It was also at a super high end country club and I would get on average ~100 - 150 a bag so 2-300 a round of golf straight cash twice a day.

Tournaments was even better. One member took a liking to me and I caddied his tournaments. He always would get me my own golfcart and said "make sure you don't lose my ball". So I would drive around by myself chilling and just spotting his ball. Made ~1000+ every tournament weekend striaght cash

I live at the beach all summer and clean condos. it's fucking awesome, get up at 6 clean until noon and then have the whole rest of the day to lay on the beach or do whatever else(and if im tired I can take a nap on the beach)

Honestly the more willing and okay you are with doing jobs you think will suck and you hate just makes it much easier to get a job. Not saying you have to give up your hiney hole for cash but definitely come to grips with the fact sometimes you will have to work something shitty to have some income.


That being said, i do guest service stuff at the olympic park here in utah, which means i sell tickets to ziplines and stuff, drive shuttles, give tours, help people with questions, answer phones, and a few other tasks, also get to make some of that tax-free money from tips as well as a decent hourly wage. Definitely not a bad way to fund skiing activities and stufd.

You won't work fast food? So as my dad always said, "you think you are above making money?"

Fast food is seriously the easiest job you can have as a 16 year old. I worked McD's through high school, that shit was sooooooooooo easy. Plus since half the other workers there were pieces of shit, and show up late for their shift, or call in sick constantly, the standards are pretty low to impress.

Other than that, you could be the bitch of a landscaping crew, a lot of 16 year olds got jobs with the city when I was that age, they mostly go around doing the bitch work the full time city employees don't want to do. Watering plants in the parks, picking up garbage etc.

I mean, you make good money and it's a good job, but I work construction in the summer and I always gain a ton of fat cause I come home and im in the mood to do nothing but eat and sleep.

Some smaller family owned restaurants pay very well. You usually have to work harder than fast food employees though. I worked at an Italian restaurant for a summer and made $12/Hour. Pretty good amount of cash when I was only 15.

I referee youth soccer. It's some work to get certified, at least in Minnesota, but once your certified it's great money. If you schedule right so that you get games back to back and find out which clubs pay most you can easily make upwards of $100 working 4 hours (3 games). Most of the good spots for summer jobs won't hire this late into summer, but there's a shortage of soccer referees all over the country so finding games will be easy.

Dinner shifts are where it's at, especially on weekends. I bus in a restaurant that's along a highway route to a tourist town and people stop in for food before heading out for a night on the town. It's only open during the summer because in the winter operations are moved to somewhere in Vermont. Also the place I work at is a Japenese/Chinese steakhouse with a few hibachi tables, bitches love hibachi.

Not sure how accessible this job is to other people, but my friend's girlfriend's dad owns a car dealership, so me and my buddy just got put on the Detail team. It definitely isn't a bad gig. I actually kind of enjoy making cars look really nice, and I'm making decent money.
