That is true. Also understand that that media corporations are always asking themselves "How can we maximize viewership?" And that is normally done by introducing new content. Sure Ebola is an important issue that is news worthy. However people are eventually going to get tired of hearing about the same thing every night. Who knows? there may have been more people transported back to the US with Ebola, but the media just chose not to report on it in light of other issues.
