Vizual1. Your mom kinda sucks if she's trying to deter you from doing what you love.
2. Work out. Make sure your body is strong.
3. Always be comfortable when trying new tricks. Take it slow and go at a comfortable pace. If you have 1% of doubt in your head about doing a risky trick, don't do it.
I often times have trouble controlling myself. One day i was skiing with my friends, and my friend hucked his first ever dub backflip. I got wayyyy too hyped, and just straight up tried to rodeo 6 out of a small pole jam. I crashed, but I got lucky and only pinched a nerve in my back.

kryptonicNo offense but that pretty fucked that ur mom did that. But most people die hitting trees and in big mountain stuff and on glades. in the park id say mainly injuries not really a lot of deaths, but if you wanna get good at skiing you have got to be willing to take a few trips to the hospital. But you could get lucky nyjah huston arguably the best street skateboarder right now has never broken a bone, and if you know skateboarding you know you can get a bit more fucked doing that then skiing and he does some gnarly shit. don't think about it though if it does happen you'll bounce back from it. You could break a wrist or your collar bone or get a concussion here and there, if you are scared of being paralyzed buy a back protector it could help prevent spinal cord damage. Worse comes to worse you tear an acl which is pretty common but you could get a way without that happening just sont crank the hell out of you dins if you dont have too. like I don't think torin has torn his or bobby or Goepper, I do think Kenworthy has either, don't quote me on any of that but you get the point.
iantheunderdogAnd I cant not try stuff cus 1% chance I have doubt I should quit skiing cus Im not always sure I can even do a basic 270 off every time.

VizualGus broke his leg like 2-3 months ago.
But if you do get injured OP, hard work will make you have a strong comeback.

.Washingtoni have this problem too, especially when youre skiing at someplace with good features and you wanna try something new, but you dont want to compromise the whole trip with an injury. my suggestion would be to (ive never been to mhhsc) but if they have an airbag get the trick dialed on there, then take it to snow.

Spot on!
Also if you ski with your friends, they can help you progress and you can hype it each other up. It's also better, so they can spot for you when you try new tricks.
Like others have said the gym helps. A tramp, summer setup, anything to gain muscle memory in a low risk scenario is great.
It's all about the mental game.
Before you drop in, visualise the trick. Play it in your mind in slo mo. This really helps. And then go for it if you're feeling up for it.
If your feeling sightly nervous, still send it. The slight nerves will help you concentrate.
Also get a good helmet, POC make good stuff. And maybe get a back protector if you are hitting the big kickers. Impact shorts don't help too much.
Hope this helps..
iantheunderdogNothing feels better then landing a new trick.

Swandog7If I'm trying something new I take it pretty casual. I'll make a beat in my head and act like ice done it before. If I'm trying to learn a 270 on ill throw it almost over the rail so I feel the 270 on and can adjust for next times. I make myself feel like it's normal and fun. The beat makes it less scary and normal like I'm cruising down hill or just normally hitting rails. I don't hold my breath and focus on they're koto much and think will I get it or not. It just feels like I'm taking easy park laps on a nice day. What I'm saying is distract yourself with something and it will make what your doing easier and more casual, you think about it less
