Play in the heelpiece of marker griffons

just mounted the heelpiece back onto the rail on my on3p's and there seems to be some play in the heelpiece. The rail actually drilled into the ski is secure but the heelpiece itself wobbles just a bit. dosent seem dangerous but dont really have anything to compare it to as my other bindings are fks and dont use a rail piece. Is this normal. dont worry about mounting it by itself as i am a certified ski technician and worked in my ski rental shop so i know about forward pressure and all that jazz

In which direction do they have play? side to side or back and forward

I've encountered this problem in many many older pairs of griffons. Usually it happens in the toe piece, but I've seen it in the heel as well.
Could be from a small crack in the rail, but most commonly it is just general wearing of interlocking parts which leads a little bit of movement.

If they are new, and mounted correctly, you shouldn't be getting any movement at all. Return them if so.

well if you've used them before that's 100% normal. If they're new that's a whole different story. I used some barons for a while ( they still lock onto the track and that jazz) and they had a ton of play. so if they're used, it's normal, that's just a trademark of marker.

Yeah i ride them for park probably for around 20 days and its a little back and forth movement. but you can deffinitely tell the coil piece is solid in the track that its sitting and thats with the boot not in it. im sure when the boot is in it will make it tighter

Completely normal. Put the boot in and they won't move. If they still move when the boots in then something isn't right. But rarely is that the case.
