Marker or Salomon? +K

So I'm thinking of getting new bindings and I think the griffons are my best choice.

Here are my options:
(Prices in AUD)

Marker Griffon Bindings $349.99 (might be able to get them for $329.95)
Marker Squire Bindings $259.99

Salomon Sth2 13 Wtr Bindings $349.00
Salomon Warden 13 Mnc Bindings $349.00

I am 60 kg (132 lb), roughly 170 cm (5.6 feet)
I normally have it at 6 and I ride park half the time and all mtn, the other half (nothing steep)

I want a binding that is relatively light but durable. Since I am only on a din of 6, would the squires be good enough? Are the salomons an overkill? Marker is probably more favourable as more shops stock replacement parts.

I am getting the K2 domains so would the markers work better because they are under the same umbrella corporation?

So what is your past experience/opinion NS on these bindings?

I want them to last a few years as well...

The Squires are the absolute worst bindings on the market. Overpriced, and pretty much made of jello in terms of durability.

Sth 2s arent a bad idea but honestly if you could get the griffons cheaper then I would go for it. The griffons despite what some say on here have never given me any trouble and im 170 lbs. and same height and really they are a solid binding for the price that are fine for lighter lower din skiiers.

Yeah STH2 all the way. I have a pair and love them. Good elasticity(more than FKS) and great durability. Mine came with a sick long lasting warranty as well. Ive never been a fan of marker. Ill only be a Salomon and Tyrolia guy from now on. STH for life.

dont go squires youll regret it unless you plan on skiing em for only 1 season go wardens or griffons

Do you know the difference between the wardens or the sth2? They seem pretty similar apart from the actual shape of the binding.

wardens are a bit more geared towards all mountain and weigh a bit less than the sths which are more of a park binding. either one should be fine. my friends ride both and hacve had no problems. I have ridden the squires and the griffons. I broke my squires they werent that durable. but my griffons are holding up great

STH 12/oversized avalible?

Markers suck.

Warden is a multi-norm binding. It can take traditional alpine and rocketed AT soled boots. Great for patrollers or others who like to have a rockerd rubber sole. Not necessary if you are only using traditional boots.

I'm same height and weight as you and ride STH2 and they're very good. I've been riding them for a few months now and haven't had any issues. Hold me in nicely even on big landings and release only when they absolutely must. After a lot of aggressive park riding the only damage I've done is a few minor scratches and nicks.

definitely not squires , too much plastic for that price ....

but i prefer griffons than sth2 , got a bad experience with the salomon bindings time ago, they pop off quicker when they have some used (maybe more than 2 years something like that).

for a personal experience i used jesters and they are the best binding i try after a hole life using a bunch of different bindings , i also have a pair with fks 14 and they're awesome but really hard to put it back skiing pow if it pop off.

Can you get Atomic branded bindings for the same price? Same bindings but they will say Atomic which is obviously the bomb.

Go with the STH2. I will forever be a Salomon / Tyrolia guy. Was never a big fan of my griffons or jesters.

Same heel pieces, differ toes. The warden is the adjustable toe and is slightly lighter. The sth toe is more responsive and skis better.

Get the sth2

There seems to be some confusio on the warden. The warden is designed for those wanting to use a rockered sole touring boots in a non touring binding. It will also work for alpine soles but is really designed to give a good non touring binding option for those with touring boots. Rockered soles will not work in the sth.

The sth is the binding to go for if you are using alpine boots.

They are both amongst the best bindings and work as well as each other but if you only use alpine boots go sth.
