Im going to copy and paste it from my project:
I am a fortunate individual, college is challenging to pay for, but doable, the roof leaks sometimes but its there, and food albeit often frozen or a bit less than nutricious is always there. This is just a dream for many across this country.
It is not wrong to live comfortably, nor is it wrong even to have a relatively extravagant lifestyle. We must however remember that the leftovers we threw in the trashcan equated to more food than some in this country have had in days.
For years I volunteered at the local food bank handing out bags of food to those in need. The look and appreciation of those receiving food that needs it more than anything makes one’s personal issues seem small and unnecessary.
I am driving across the country with my father, moving from my home in Maine to a new home in Colorado, something only the well-off among us can do. My goal however is to spread care across the country as I go. I will be handing out peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (along with alternatives for allergies) and water for those who are struggling in the streets of many cities across this country.
Human to human interaction in my eyes is one of the most pure forms of compassion and care, and I would like to spread it in my own way across the country.
Give me $5 or $10, small change to most of us, but a big change in the life of others.
Sparknotes: Donate a few bucks to me or ask your parents to, so while I pursue my ski dreams, some people who otherwise couldn't could have a sandwhich in cities I pass through along the way
