Subwoofers

Thinking about installing subs in my car. What is a good sub to get that gives out great sound, and what kind of amp would you need to get with that sub?

Also, if I end up getting another car in a couple years, could I transfer the sub from my car now to my new car? Sorry, I'm kinda inexperienced at this haha.

I would say subs produce good sound.

I am also curious, I have a 12" sub that was given to me, I have an amp in my boat that runs tower speakers, the rest of the speakers are on the deck, should I get another amp for my sub?

Wouldn't I got cut off subs are very easy to install and uninstall and that's all you'll be doing if you buy a new car you have to uninstall it out of your old car and put it into your new one. I use to have subwoofers on my cars to get old pretty quickly subwoofers a subwoofer there's not really too much of a difference. at a certain point the base level just gets annoying.

Yeah I totally agree. So what would be a good wattage to have that produces good sound? Like there are some that go up to like 2500 watts, and some that are like 250 watts...what would you recommend would be a good wattage to get that still have good bass and sound but like you said, not extensive?

No dude definitely not. I enjoy listening to music, and just want some higher quality tone to listen to my music.

get one 10' non-dished kicker because they're super responsive, and have really good quality. My dad got one in his truck 5~ years ago with a 750 watt alpine amp I believe to power it, and it's still kicking quite nicely. I use it daily for at least an hour, he did that before I did.

It's durable, they're not too expensive and sounds quite nice. If you don't need the car next to you shaking I would say it's the way to go.


Also, if you're wanting really nice sound down the road get another one of the same amps, and run it for two front door speakers. It's quite a good way to go, although costly if you get a shop to do it.

I was given a sub 12" I think in a sub box, I'd like to put it in my boat, I have an amp running my tower speakers, my regular speakers run off my deck, Do I need a second amp for my sub? how do I hook it up to my deck? are there usually two spots for subs?
