East side up in this bitch mothafucka. Nah but seriously I like the West Coast much rather visit CA or AZ than Florida and Ive lived in Reno for a big enough part of my life.


This is a very very very easy and solvable problem but Im terrified shit is going to get like Mad Max out there in 2-3 years because of human stupidity. Very very very easy problem to fix if correct measures are taken soon and century old water rights and such are taken off farmers and non essential farms producing foods that are grown elsewhere and can be imported are seized by the government via eminent domain. Is your life going to be worse if almonds become viewed as a treat such as caviar?

Look I knew the drug dealer Tsaranaev killed to fund planning the marathon bombing if I knew the kid and knew he was going to plant a bomb at our marathon I'd have shot him with an unregisterd gun and dropped it in the ocean.

I don't see how a millionaire farming almonds in the fucking desert has a right to oxygen honestly I think they deserve to die if they don't close or relocate their business its that horrible what they are doing and just as bad as terrorism.

1/3 to half the farms producing non essential and wasteful produce need to be confiscated via eminent domain and closed off from farming and that is about it. Honestly the culture is probably in place to make businesses recycle and reuse their water when they can and people will take shorter showers. Subsidize and coordinate desalienation for stuff like golf courses and you can grow even more grass in Palm Springs and have huge green fields all over the desert if you so wish.

Don't feel bad for the farmers they are growing food the government will give them tons of tax breaks to relocate somewhere like the MIssissippi delta where it rains on stop these people own tons of land in a wealthy state they will be OK even if they can't raise as many crops. Less jobs for illegal immigrants isn't the end of the world either if tons of farms close its not like any of them employ Americans.


Again this shit is so easy to fix its a shame things might get crazy out there when the correct measures can be taken and everyone of you West Coasters can get back to enjoying your lovely and arid climate and good weather. THis is not a complicated multi-layered social problem its an easy one human household consumption really isn't that much.
