Canadian hospitals

Canadians may gloat about their universal health care but in reality every hospital in Canada is terrible. They are truly as bad as they sound if not worse. You're better off just not worrying about your ACL because no ACL is better than no leg.

.Washingtonso we watched this pretty sketch video in health class about a couple spefific hostpitals that the doctors didn't wash their hands as much as they needed to and it spread infection pretty badly, even to the point this guy almost lost his leg after an acl surgery. so are these Canadian hospitals really that bad or have the hospitals got there stuff together?

I've been to both U.S. and Canadian hospitals and it seems like yours are just the same...... Except yours has a bank machine where they ask for money, lots of money, and that is fucking terrible and sad. I met some U.S. Skiers while in the states and they were petrified of going to the hospital because it costs so much $$$$. They were trying to pop their own shoulders back in via Google searches.

Our hospitals are pretty good, the only problem is that emergency is a shit show because it's free and people that have no business being there are always clogging the system.

it's not any worse than the US. slightly better even. I'll back this up with some numbers:


Canada: about 8,000 HAI (hospital-acquired infections) deaths each year

If you do the math it shows Canada has slightly fewer deaths due to hospital infections than the US per unit of population. Might be other reasons at play than just cleanliness, but this is probably about the best indicator number one could find.

They do that here in the US too. It's people without insurance or under a variety of provided services or whatever. It's especially people who have kids. If their one year old kid has a fever and they can't afford a pediatrician, they just go to the emergency room. They pretty much have to be taken and treated, and then the cost falls on the rest of us. I've sat bleeding from my head or with a cut nearly to my bone in my shin (also tons of blood) so people with no severe illnesses or issues could go ahead of me.

Last time I was in a hospital, it was one that serviced a pretty hood area. So I'm sitting there, most people speak spanish or unintelligible english. I guess this one crack addict looking dude knew the girl next to him. They were basically characters from the show the boondocks. Eventually he smacks this girl's phone from her hand, it hits the floor and explodes into a million pieces. Then he continued to explain that he was there to have stab wounds photographed. He'd initially refused that, but now he wanted it done. And they basically sat there and yelled at each other for the entire time and talking about all this weird stuff.

i once waited in the "emergency" room for 6 hours while half my nose was virtually cut off while people who had no issues went before me.

I've been to hospitals in the US, the UK and Canada and my experiences at the Canadian ones have been by far the best.

emergency rooms dont work on a first come first serve basis.
they work on a priority basis.
which means other people, with more serious issues than you, received attention before you did.

just because you cant physically see someone with a "virtually half cut off nose", doesnt mean they dont require immediate medical attention.
