Binding scews?

so i was taking my bindings off, theyre 4-5 years old so the screws and everything are pretty old. so upon inspection after getting them out a couple of them had left their heads inside the hole. note this isnt a big deal to me as i will not be remounting with the same binding in the same holes. but in reality should this ever happen, or are the screws just old and they break like that? also those were the same length screws when i got the bindings.

Do shops carry extra screws or do you have to order them online? Been wondering this for a while.

i bought bindings off some guy on ns and the screws were actually crap and weren't going to last, so i went to my local shop and asked for some new ones. unfortunately they didn't have any, i ended up emailing some dude from marker a bunch of times for screws but i wasn't able to get them from him. anyways, couldn't find any so now my bindings are mounted with screws that probably won't last another season

For reference sake the "head" is the wide bit you use the screwdriver on.

Are you sure that you're sure that you're sure that the shop didn't grind the screws a little shorter, or swap some of the screws out, or that they were definitely all the same length to start with? To be honest just looking at the heads and threads they look like 2 different types of screw, the top one has no lip on the head whereas the bottom one looks to have a slight bevel on it.
What sort of bindings are we talking about anyway? That'll quickly answer whether they have different length screws...

I've taken some horrible ancient nasty screws out of skis before and never had one snap off like that, and those screws look like they're in good condition. If they were going to snap they would do it immediately under the head, 99% of the time.

Alright thanks, and they're 2010 marker barons, both of these screws came out of the heel track. As far as I know all the baseplate Screws are the same except for the one longer one that is by the switch that flips back and forth for tour mode. Is my understanding of the screw length correct or am I messed up? And for the shop grinding them off I have no idea, my shop is literally retarded... Don't get me started on them.

You could have ordered a screw kit of SVST, or the specific screw if you measure the size of it.

As for the did they snap argument why don't you shine a flashlight in the holes and see if there is still metal in them? Hell you probably don't even need a flashlight since the holes aren't very deep.

As a matter of fact I did shine a flashlight down there. And you can see where the very tip of the screw is embedded down In there. But really I was wondering if this is bif deal and screws shoups ever do that

I'm pretty sure when I took my dukes out they had different lengths. Did they both cole from the rear part of the baseplate? Also yours look really work down as well.

yes they both "cole" from the back two holes of the rear baseplate. and nope on the different lengths on the dukes. http://www.bindingfreedom.com/screw-lengths/ all 2011 and newer have 18 small head screws that are all the same, 2010 and older have 16 of the 10mm small heads and 2 of the 8mm low heads.

if they sell the bindings then they will have extra screws, no they screws should not break, but you also should have the skis serviced atleast every year maybe more. if they are broken a ski technician will be able to tell and do a remount for you.
