Why do people slam Priuses?

Although I still haven't seen one in person yet, I've noticed a lot of slammed priuses being posted in different automotive forums and websites. A few large providers now make wide body kits for them, but I haven't been able to find any performance upgrades.

I'm genuinely curious here. I know that there are a lot of crazy slammed cars out there, but I have a hard time understanding why someone would spend 15k or more on body and suspension work on a Prius.

Is it just to be ironic and funny, or am I missing something?

Yeah I get that, I'm not judging people's tastes. I'm just trying to figure out where they come from haha. I don't hate priuses either, it's just that wide body kits and 11 inch wide tires don't really help with fuel consumption..

YEah tru. They do look weird as fuck. I agree with you tho. Its not like youre gonna take the thing out on a track or anything like that. Idk why youd put forth all the effort into a car that tops at like 90 lol

I get the appeal. You want the benefits of a hybrid (either feeling good about doing your part to reduce FF consumption, or saving money on gas, whatever) without sacrificing looks. Realistically, my next car would be a gunmetal gray Prius with black rims, sport tires, and a tint. Not a dream car, but a balance.

Because its a tampon on wheels that make you drive like an asshole and drives like asshole... I actually drive a blue Prius almost everyday, overall i would much rather drive another car but its hard to beat the great gas milage

Alright, but what's the point in modifying any car that low anyways? It's not like they build the stance-prius's to go fast lol. Go too fast in cars like that, and you'll be ripping off your control arms, oil pan ect. I don't see the point in modifying a car that has the balance and ability to go fast, or drift in, to the point that both of those things damage your car anyways.

I don't like form>function but what can you do, I would rather have a stanced prius than a stanced skyline/2jz car but thats just me

personally i love slammed priuses as they attract even more hate than stock ones. i can see the appeal of driving around in a economical car that you you've modded and aren't embarrassed of.

that being said, if i was looking for a really economical car i would buy a VW Golf TDI (a diesel). they get really good mpg and they look alright.

He used to forerun our races with pow skis hahah, I saw him this winter in steamboat a couple times. I was with a bunch of friends at this wing place and he had the waitress bring us a round of shots filled with tap water hahah.

I have a prius and it gets dope mileage. I can get to sunday river and back on 1 gallon of gas, and its an hour and a half each way. I however think that shit looks dumb, but I think it would look dumb on any car. why not save money on gas and shit and then put that in the bank and earn interest so you can live a better more comfortable life

Does building a Prius have a massive environmental footprint relative to lots of other vehicles because of things like mining/manufacturing/building the batteries and crap like that?

I have a desk job and dont go offroad but i own a truck.... they can be used for a lot more things than going offroad, and there are way better offroad vehicles than trucks.
