when learning new tricks and even doing some tricks eg. rails, backflips (1 i do with rails 1 without) but what is easier to use poles or to use no poles?
It depends really, some people are better at going without poles. But for others, who have used poles their whole lives it can really throw your balance off if you switch to not using them.
I prefer poles, they weigh down my hands so my hands are not touching the sky, I wish I could be like Henrik with the no pole steeze but I have yet to find it in me
Depends on what I'm feeling but honestly poles don't matter much, I mean it's more of a style preference. Although this is my first year on skis and when first skiing in the park I didn't use them and never really enjoyed using them, but once I started using them and got used to doing grabs while holding a pole which can be tricky with mitts, I sort of just kept using them and one day I tried went without them and it was fine but it didnt feel right, but then a few days later I went and didn't use my poles much so it depends on the day but I usually go with poles now.
They both have their ups and downs. In my opinion skiing with poles gives you better style typically, but I ski without poles because it feels better, easier to grab, etc
I use poles for learning new stuff and getting comfortable at it. I used poles for a couple months this season to get comfortable keeping my hands down and prevent my arms from waving around. Now I don't anymore and on an average day I wont. Way better and more convenient, especially with rope tows in Minnesota
