Replying to Elmers paper glue- fact or fiction

so i was talking to this dude at my shop a while ago, and he said that you put just like some elmers paper glue inside the binding holes before you screw the binding in. note he works at the shop and i mildly trust him. is this true? and say i were to take my bindings off, and then decide i want to put them back on would i be able to just use something to keep the water out, then carefully screw them back in? or would i need like the holes retapped or something?

tl;dr - does elmers paper glue work for the binding holes
- and can i take bindings off now(and not ride the ski or anything) leave the holes open, and rescrew them back into the holes carefully and with some sort of substance to keep the water out
