CampeadorBesides Bernie, Trump is the only one I hear attacking companies like Ford that are moving significant parts of their operations to Mexico and other countries. Only Trump and Bernie are railing against the TPP. Where they differ is how they would go about dealing with it. Personally, I'll take a billionaire businessman, over a lifelong socialist politician any day of the week, especially if we get border control and no Syrian migrants as part of the deal.
Ford and other American manufacturers have been moving out of the USA since the 1970's... that's nothing new.. There's plenty of people who've spoken out against that for years... and neither Bernie nor Trump are the only ones talking about that right now...
As for the Billionaire Businessman vs. the Socialist Politician...
Billionaire is one thing if he created his own legacy... He barely did... He certainly wouldn't have without the capitol from his father. There's far more people in this world who are more worthy of that kind of capitol who would have not only invested better and run their business better, but would also not be pandering racist fuckbags.
Socialist politician... first of all socialism isn't bad... it can and has worked very well in many arenas... I'm not even going to get into it because that debate's already happened. I feel like conservatives are mostly scared that he's going to tear everything down and create some soviet union 2.0 deal here... that's not the case at all... not only would checks and balances on the executive branch prohibit it, but Bernie wouldn't even want that. The thing's he's talking about are pretty cut and dry. He wants to socialize healthcare and improve funding for our education system (thats already socialized), and he wants to regulate the financial institutions in ways like you previously stated.. His stance on the middle east would be pretty similar I'd imagine to what's happening under the Obama administration, but I tend to agree with that, because simply put, I feel the only way to really allow that part of the world to prosper is to let it do it's own thing. We have proven to ourselves that we're not going to gain influential traction there with weapons... Ted Cruz'ing the situation with war over there isn't going to improve shit.
We have border control where it's necessary... ISIS isn't coming in through Mexico... like, at all. and the cost of the influx of immigrants is far worse than the cost of losing such an influx. Hell, Canada is welcoming them in with open arms, as they're lacking in young workforce, and with the brain drain issue in many states, addition of Syrian refugees (many of whom are educated already to begin with) and affordable labor with latino immigrants may fill many of the labor gaps we have.
Do I believe Bernie will be able to implement much of what he claims? Pretty much no... but I feel like his influence may swing us in a positive direction, both economically, and culturally. If congress is going to be controlled by the GOP, I want the president to be exactly opposing of that.
Anyway, thanks Obama for the
