Sanders won very liberal voters over Clinton by 19 percentage points, but he lost self-identified somewhat liberals and moderates to Clinton by 6 percentage points and 23 percentage points, respectively. That's bad for Sanders because even though 68 percent of Iowa Democratic caucus-goers identified as liberal this year, only 47 percent of Democratic primary voters nationwide did so in 2008. We'll need to see if Sanders can do better in a state that is more moderate than Iowa before thinking he can win the nomination.

Iowa and New Hampshire also lack nonwhite voters, who form a huge part of the Democratic base. Can Sanders win over some of these voters? Clinton has held a lead among nonwhites of nearly 40 percentage points in national polls.

Clinton will continue to be a favorite for the Democratic nomination if she continues to hold a large lead among nonwhite voters and basically breaks even with white voters, as she did in Iowa. Sanders, meanwhile, needs to cut into Clinton's lead among nonwhites and expand his support among white voters beyond what he won in Iowa.

You didn't clarify if 5th and 2nd highest or lowest. But I will guess you mean 5th highest for 26-34, and 2nd lowest for 35-44. BUT let us do some math.

CBSNews reported the following:

Sanders had 86% of 17-24 year old voters (10% of all voters), while Clinton had 11%
Sanders had 81% of 25-29 year old voters (8% of all voters), Clinton had 17%
Sanders had 62% of 30-39 year old voters (14% of all voters), Clinton had 34%
Clinton had 51% of 40-49 year old voters (10% of all voters), Sanders had 44%
Clinton had 58% of 50-64 year old voters (30% of all voters), Sanders had 34%
Clinton had 69% of all voters 65 or older (28% of all voters), Sanders had 26%

WSJ reported this:
Sanders had 84% of voters aged 17-29, Clinton had 14%
Sanders had 58% of Voters aged 30-44, Clinton had 37%
Clinton had 58% of voters aged 45-64, Sanders had 35%
Clinton had 69% of voters older than 65, Sanders had 26%.


According to data collected by Goldford for the Iowa Caucus Project in 2008, 17-19 year-olds made up just 11 percent of Republican caucus participants, while that same demographic made up 22 percent of Democratic caucus participants. 22% is almost 1/4 is it not? Large voting population right there, especially considering he was estimated to have captured over 80% of it.

If you really think that Bernie Sanders = China, then I don't know if I should take you seriously. If you said Bernie Sanders = Germany or Austria or Sweden etc, then I would take your argument seriously.

Such countries view education as a state right because they know that a better educated public leads to a more well informed and productive public. Their current system proves it. Their free universities prevent rich kids from buying their way in and instead force students to test in- only the best and brightest make it.

The argument that free university leads to a lazier population is a non-starter. How do you think kids will get into such colleges if they can't buy their way in? Colleges have a very finite number of space for new students- they can't accept all applicants. As such, they will need to weed out the ones less deserving and that is done through grades/testing/writing samples/teacher recommendations, etc. If they use these European countries as a model (which I can only guess at given Bernie's opinions), then it should become a competitive learning environment, not a place for lazy non-productive people.

By subsidizing college and making entrance policies more strict it would allow those who truly desire and will utilize and education more likely to be able to do so because they don't have to worry about not affording it. Likewise, people like all the idiot finance majors at big schools who have their daddy pay their tuition and cheat their way through along with the rest of their frat won't be able to get to college unless they actually put some effort in. Really the opposite of what you are projecting lol.

Not to mention you're talking about college like it's a vacation... maybe u had support from your parents so it was easy but i'm working almost full time to pay rent utilities car payment and food and still taking 12 credits that are paid for by me indirectly via loans and it sure as hell isn't easy. About to go 2 weeks with about 12 dollars in my bank acct in the name of getting a degree. So idk why you are talking about it lIke some sort of resort lol.

Also by having such high unsubsidized college tuition prices we are ensuring the wealth gap grows due to the fact that only ones from a certain social class that can afford it will continue to go, while the poor don't go and continue to be poor. Upward class mobility is essentially non-existent in the "land of opportunity" which is fucked.

For every dollar invested into education the state will see a six dollar return on average. And that number only increases if you invest more into early education. As for health care, hahahaha, did you not see my post about I pay so little in health care compared to America? I pay about $1,500 a year for health care. Compared to what? 10 grand for America?

But that's only a faction of the reason you should vote for Sanders. Sanders has had a constant track record of being ahead the curve ball on social issues. He marched with MLK, fought for gay rights before it "cool" to do so. Voted against the war in Iraq. Sanders recognises climate change is real and has always been against the Keystone pipeline. Sanders is against the TTP, (seriously look up the TTP and tell me if you want to vote for a president who supports it).Sanders wants to break up the big banks and have a glass stegal act put in place. Bernie is for the legalisation of marijuana.

But the biggest reason you should vote for Bernie is he cares about the American people. He doesn't want big money in his campaign. He refuses it, he can't be bought. You think Clinton, or Cruz is going to give a fuck about you when they're bought out by wallstreet??? Unless you're making more than 250K a year you should be supporting Bernie. That is why YOU would vote for Sanders. Fortunately, there are other options beyond Sanders for those who do not agree with you.

I, for one, cannot get behind his economic proposals because frankly, most of them, in my opinion and those of some PhD. economists, are short-selling the actual costs of implementing them.

Do I love his social stances on gay marriage, climate change, and social rights? Yes. Do I agree with much of what he wants to achieve? Yes.

But there is not one path to reach the goal, and frankly, I and many others, do not think he is the kind of person to lead us there.

I do not think a single candidate who is currently running is fit to achieve the goal for one reason or another.

But to call someone stupid for not supporting a candidate because he is a "good person" is what is wrong with politics in America. Politics should not be a popularity contest like high school where the cool kid wins, it should be based off their platform and their ideas. Do not vote for someone because he walks and talks like you, vote for someone because he has the policies you believe in.

When it comes to his health, we should for sure question it. Just as we should question every candidate's health. But age alone is not a direct indicator of health. Bernie may very well be in fact healthier than Cruz or Rubio or Trump. He might not be. But then I am not a doctor to judge that. All I can do is judge their principles and what they say they will do once elected. And, knock on wood, if he does die during office, it's not like the US government all of a sudden fails (as history has shown). There is a system in place and it keeps running until the next election.
