Any tips on how to land 270 on a rail

I have been going big all my life, but up until last year rails scared the shit out of me. This year i have gotten better at rails, but iam scared to 270 onto them, partly because i dont like to grind backside, so shood i try to spin the other way onto them or what? Any advice?

spin unnaty way easier you should practice spinning both ways on your tramp or even flat ground every day for like 5 mins just throw 540's both ways back and forth sooner or later you wont have an unatrual. grind unnaty is harder to learn especially when landing 270's also try 270's out before on its easier.

ya need to progress up to it, get unnatural slides and switch unnatural slides down solid, and then start trying 180's and 270's onto boxes, when ya got it down like a pimp on a box try it on a rale

take off a bit to the side of the rail, it seemed to help me cause if i took off square to the rail i would land on my tails

i grind right foot forward..but when i get on switch i grind left foot forward cuz its easier for me..

do a switch on good then try a switch 270 and you will land regular..but start on box then move to rails

just find a line or something on the ground and practice spinning 270's whateva way u want onto it, then find a small rail and try it. Im goofy but prefer to throw a natural 270 to unatty. So just like lead with ur head and look down afta 180, spot the rail, and land.

for me it helped to focus on looking down when you spin, so you can be watching the rail the whole time, and don,t have to spi almost 270 before you can see it

i dunno what you mean by grinding backside - skiers dont grind backside the either slide left foot or right foot. work on your unnatty heaps until it is almost as good as you natty (sliding not spinning) then work up the balls and try it.

umm do them on boxes, then take it to a rail.. thats what i did. didnt even do a unatural slide efore that

spinning unnatural is alot easier than sliding unnatural once you have 270 outs down its just a matter of time before you start doing them onto the rail...some people say to start on boxes but i didnt just keep trying it until you get it....you got it man

i find it much easier to just jib unnatty and spin natty. maybe unnaty jibbing just came easier to me, but...
but do it on a box first. like someone said, for some reason it helps me to come a little from the side of the box/rail. just commit, if you don tits gonna be a gnarly fall

^^ spinning unnatty off rails is totally and completely different than spinning on to them. its much easier to spin natural and slde unnatural. if you are good enoughto start trying them on semi-tech rails your unnatty sliding should be good anyway.

I always kept rotating the super secret is to just do a 180, then drop your skis to 270. Your skis need to get to 270 before you do if you plan on sliding anything long, or else you will find it incredibly hard or impossible to stop rotating. Just try it right now in your socks or whatever.

yea, id agree with NoTeefa. also make sure you get the amount of spin down right so that you are 270 or a little under when you land on the rail. try and spot the rail during the spin and as you are coming around and make sure your takeoff is straight.

learn to 270 both ways onto boxes. i learned 270 to unaty rail in my backyard tonight

i'd still never touch salomon bindings with a 30 foot pole. they pre-release like its their job to.-lanks

get used to going switch onto rails. once ur really good at that just think of a 180 to switch on.

i disagree aceofspades, if you do a 180 and drop your skis to 270 it looks sort of unco and off balance, i think its better to imagine it as a real slow 3, so you land at 270 and are looking towards the end of the rail and ready to ride the thing, also that way you can spin off much more easily.

i feel what aceofspades is sayin, you spin your body 180 but spin your skis 270, it makes it a little easier to slide a longer rale

but then you haver to whip your head around to looka t the end of the rail and it doesnt have steeze. you gotta be looking at the end of the rail to make it smooth. plus its easier to make hat way.
