The south is notably more racist. My grandpa from texas is racist as are most of my cousins from louisiana. Its the culture down there. A lot of blacks hate whites and whites hate blacks.

The definition of racism is "the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race". "Look who's leaving—all the black people."? I don't think I have ever heard a more perfect example of racism.

You're not an expert, you haven't personally conducted research or turned up legitimate academic source material to base your claims upon, so how about you shut the fuck up. I'm curious, how many black people from low income households has your pasty ass interacted with? please use words you actually know the meaning of... No I'm saying that why would OP conduct research when he linked articles that prove that the south is inherently more racist than the north. So I'm INFERRING that the south is more racist than the north. That being said judging someone based on where they live and assuming stereotypes because of that is fucking stupid.

I'm not "condemning" the whole South. there is plenty of racism in the north, and there are lots of nice, non-racist people in the most. Most of the people in either location aren't racist. What I am saying is there tends to be a more racially charged atmosphere there. Most of the kkk is located in the bible belt, as well as other hate groups.

You saw one post referencing the south and sprung into defense mode. No one is saying that the south is the epicenter of the world's racism, but when a regions history has been intimately intertwined with the issue it can't be hard to understand why these generalizations exist. Stereotyping and labeling is ultimately something no one should engage in. It's easier than it seems to put yourself in someone else's shoes and people on both sides of the political spectrum could stand to do that more often.

Not that they havent changed, there are no more lynchings but thats like when Soviets were saying their labor camps werent as bad as Nazi extermination camps. Theres a reason that no progressive cities are in the south. Cities like Seattle, San Fran, Boston or either Portlands are where there are booming cultural communities and equality is most embraced.

I don't like the south but I live in Atlanta and have to say it's pretty progressive. It's a big melting pot of people from all over the country with tons of culture to experience. Both DeKalb and Fulton counties (Atlanta) overwhelmingly voted for Obama. It was like 77 and 65% respectively.
