What products are worse than they should be with today's technology?

I'm going to say toilet paper. It should be moisturized,scented, and biodegradable so you can shit out side more often.

It was better 90 years ago then today. all ford models where built to run off ethanol (alcohol). Most cars today can run off it with a simple ecu hack. but the oil company's then and now keep shutting it down. No money in a cheap, clean, renewable energy. They have to fund more wars for more oil.

Where are you getting this information about the 1 ton and 500miles? I may be wrong, but those numbers and 1 gallon of what? Diesel? does not sound remotely realistic? If you could give me a source I would believe but idk I'm skeptical on that statement

1 gallon of diesel, almost all modern freight trains are diesel-electric,

Thanks for the links. And yea that's why I was like blown away Cus most trains have an electric generator which is run by diesel, and then the electricity from the generator is used to move the train( at least that's how I understand it but of course I may be wrong) . I never realized that the generators were that efficient.

Yeah, I was pretty impressed when I started looking into it. I'm guessing but I think the wheels and track are pretty low friction comparatively to tires and highway, also the electric system is very efficient and can generate 100% torque at 0 rpm

You'd be suprised how inefficient almost all processes are. Above 50% efficiency for anything is pretty damn good
