I felt like the edits were mediocre in comparison to the previous years. Last year and the year before had minutes and minutes of bangers and insane skiing. This year seemed to be pretty weak relative to years before. Yes the triple, the zero, Zak's 9 all good skiing, yet a sense of throwing down was missing. Good edit for ams, but for having some of the best talent in the world, I expected significantly more. Cinematography subpar, music hardly bearable, and overall disappointing. Someone needs to be fired immediately.
Saw lots of sick action up on the hill. Hoping to see footage of some of the side projects too. Saturday I saw a big crew building and boosting in ZigZag canyon and I know some riders hiked to the summit too.
There was a lot less snow to work with this year than in previous to set up features and have a large park, but for what we had everyone killed it. There's gonna be some bangers coming out. And sunset shoot was prime. West Coast is the Best Coast Session.

The day sesh on the jump was great for video, unfortunately the light for the sunset was complete bunk for video, photogs got some good stuff but all the video looks pretty subpar compared to previous years. A huge cloud rolled in right at 6pm and blocked the entire sunset :(

Only the daily edits have been releases, just wait.
I was unaware they were doing team edits this year and thought the daily edits were it so I was super pissed. I have been looking forward to these edits all year. ETA on the team edit drop date?
I went to public day myself and you have no idea how thin the snow was down on conways. At first, I was kind of surprised that WCS wasn't cancelled and was a little worried that it would get a bad rap for not having the same quality features as years past. Didn't matter. It was easily the best weekend of my season and the vibe couldn't have been better imo.
The edits I've seen so far have surpassed all of my expectations knowing the snow situation. Plus, you've only seen ONE filmers work and I thought he killed it. Why hate on an event that represents what so many of us want skiing to be? People showed up just to chill and have a good time skiing even tho the conditions were shitty. Yeah, the team edits were sick a few years ago but WCS does a good job of mixing it up and keeping it fresh year to year. Sorry you couldn't be there OP. Maybe you'd understand...

I live in Gresham (hour or so away from Govy) and have been up at Timberline during WCS for the past 5 years. I'm not saying the environment or the riding was horrible. I was saying that from the videos I saw, it seemed to be a weird way to create hype. Love the Hood and the people who decide to invest massive amounts of time and money up there to create the Govy life we all come to know and love.

Evan, you left right before the cloud lifted for the last little bit of the session. But it is true that for the majority of the session, there was a kind of nasty cloud hanging around. Regardless, people will still see some more footage from there.

I think you're forgetting that the daily updates take quite a bit of work to film and turn around quickly. There's so much that goes into each one. Personally, I feel like Jeff Kohnstamm did a great job of grabbing the vibe and cranking them out.

Haters just don't like Jazzy Jeff's edits. I was there on the weekend and still saw some wild shit go down despite there being at most a foot of snow on the rail section and runout.
I agree. I am really disappointed I got to see daily edits/clips from the action during WCS. Shit was so lame. You guys really need to step it up with edits on the hour every hour.
Bring back the team edits! These new daily re-caps are kinda cool but they kinda just remind me of any other edit, team edits were fire and made them each more unique and entertaining.

Daily edits were the og wcs thing. Team edits actually aren't that fun we have to pick teams etc it makes it lame to film. Its much more fun for us to go out and create our OEM thing and IMO the result is better.
MaryOI've yet to watch the edits, but the photography has been spectacular. The sunset shoots beautiful. I better watch some edits!!

Yeah video light sucked, the weather was pretty bunk for the middle two days, and the lower parks were pretty mediocre to shoot on. But sunset for photogs was pretty special.

I think the edit were sick, but the only sad thing was that they were not long enough, like one minute edits compare to last year there was like 6 edits of 3 minutes each ...I can't wait for other edits to come out

I always love WCS but the best year will always be 2013. I loved the individual team edits.
Yeah fuck that cloud. Seriously it rolled in RIGHT as the session started. After a whole day of bluebird. Oh well. OP be patient. These things take time.

I think last year WSC edit was the sickest. Watched that thing for ages. I just didn't like this years edit that much. It didn't flow I felt and the 3 different songs in an edit? No thankyou
