Update on Jonny

Newschoolers,

Many members of the Newschoolers community and people outside of the skiing community have asked me to post an update on how Jonny is doing. Despite the doctor's orders, Jonny is currently back at the University of Denver taking Econ and Sustainability and doing well in both. Jonny is in the process of rushing Lambda Chi Alpha. Between doctors appointments, school and fraternity stuff Jonny is a busy guy.

Jonny is back doing the things he loves, bar hopping, hanging with friends and skiing. Yes, skiing. We had the chance to go skiing last Saturday at A-Basin. We took a few cruiser laps and lapped the park a few times. No dubs or future spins were thrown but Jonny greased a few rails and threw a few 3's here and there. We are planning on heading up to A-Basin again this Saturday.

Yet again, the outpouring of support and love from the Newschoolers and skiing community was unbelievable. I apologize that I will leave people and groups off of this list but, a special thanks to Lethal Decent, Annika D., Evolve Summer Camps, Bobby Brown and Smith Optics. such an awesome end to a story that could have ended waayyyy worse. jonny is one badass piece of a man, mad respect!

and the fact that you guys get to shred with your buddy again and have a good time makes me even more happier and stoked!

Never made the connection that you and Jonny were the same person. Glad you're all healed up and doing better man, I love good news! Congrats mang! How's the arm?

Anyways, I never made the connection that Jonny and Motha were the same person! Glad to hear you're doing better man, it's always awesome to hear good news. How's the arm? Sounds like you're pretty much 100%!

Glad to hear you're doing better man! Newschoolers is such an amazing community and beyond proud to be apart of it. Glad we, as a community, can make a difference in peoples lives!

I would say I am close to one hunnid besides the left arm, which is fully numb and paralyzed due to avulsed nerves in the neck/spinal cord region. I am sctually in Minnesota right now at the mayo clinic talking with doctors here about possible surgical options that could restore elbow flection, but besides that there is not much that can be done for the arm at this point. Maybe in 20 years there will be some crazy new procedure haha who knows. The proposed surgery is set for july 15 but I am still mot sure if I will go through with it. In the meantime, if you ever see someone shreddin with one arm in CO or at hood this summer, give a holler cuz it is most likely me

That's crazy. I'm sorry it's not back, but it's great that you're not letting it slow you down. Good on you, dude, and I hope that regardless of whether you choose to have the surgery or not that you keep getting out there and making life happen. That's what it's all about.

This is so awesome to hear!! So stoked for you and the progress you have made in such a short time!

Funny story, my friends and I were actually at Breck that day and were on the same run just after the accident happened. I read about it later on newschoolers and was pretty much in disbelief. About a week or two ago, my friend had asked if I heard anything more about what happened but I didn't. I think I have some good news to tell him though!

Keep killin it dude, glad to hear you're back out on the mountain!
