Difference between ski companies

So I was browsing websites selling skis and each company has its own unique technology.

So for Line:
they have like there skate deck design in the afterbangs (yes, I know they suck apparently)
3D butter zone
....

Armada:

HYBRID DOUBLE ZONE
LAMINATE MATRIX
....


and the list goes on and on for different companies and skis..

So do these 'technologies' actually mean anything and differentiate the quality of a ski compared to a different company's ski because aren't all skis these days pretty much the same in quality (Maybe not Line, durability issues)?

Or is it just marketing?

No, it's a way of patenting something and a marketing technique. So the taper in the tip and tale for the Bdog is called elf shoe technology when in reality, it's taper. There's no difference between ski companies
