I don't like how inclusive our sport seems. everyone is white. the most amount of black people i've seen on the mountain is two. i've also never seen any black skiers. (besides bmos). what are your thoughts?

it is a white sport but when I skiied in whistler I was surprised at how diverse the skiing is out there. But on smaller mountains you'll probably find more white people, big mountains more diverse.

Skiing seems to have this absurd, youthful insecurity with the bare facts of its existence. Always trying to imitate snowboarders or rappers or skateboarders or something.
A recognition that what we get to do is privileged is key. Observing that it's expensive now and only getting worse for the average person should be yielding bigger changes.
And if you're out here talking about how anyone can work hard and get anything, you've never properly understood those circumstances.

Two of my main vices in life have been hockey and skiing. Two ridiculously homogenous sports? Definitely, but no need to worry. Like others said, just be thankful you probably had a family well off enough to give you the opportunities. No need to feel white guilt, that shit is dumb (unless you have done things that are terrible and racist).
