Shrooms can be tricky man, my first trip was absolutely insane. They can range from a good time with friends, to the destruction of your ego in a not so friendly way. A trip can range from gentle visuals and a silly heads space all the way too, I've gone insane, who am i?, am I real?, is this real?, when will this end?, it's never ending..., ok I've gone insane I have to accept this, what's my name? What is a name? Why? Watching oneself die from a god view and accepting it. I was 16 my first trip and was way under prepared I wanted to see funny shit, instead I saw the very fabric of my "soul" become unwoven, at one point I was absolutely convinced I had committed some eternal sin that was unforgivable and my current state was punishment for what I had done. I was completly catatonic for about 3 hours which litterally felt like multiple lifetimes words can't describe the feeling of having your ego obliterated, and this is comming from a kid who oozed confidence. My experience may be unique who knows?

A strong shroom trip can change ones perception of reality for life, or it can be a fun night laughing like a retard.

I wouldn't consider shrooms a hardcore drug since according to the graph dobber posted it has little consequences

"you want to see funny shit" take acid if you just want to have visuals. mushrooms are way more of a mind fuck, be prepared for mild visuals and intense contemplation. or just take tiny bit of mushrooms and drink some, you'll be laughing so hard at everything you won't be able to function.

I wouldn't say LSD really gives that strong of visuals at low dosage either though, and then you're in it for a 12 hour trip. There are some RCs that give stronger visuals than acid and have a shorter duration, but unless you buy from the darkweb its really hard to know what you're getting.

Yeah, losing your ego can by terrifying? Are you a Christian or do you hold onto any belief system? I’m only asking because you seemed to by convinced that you would be eternally punished for what you did. Your belief system can cause you to have barriers to entry, which makes it very hard for your mind to let go. Most of the time you just give up.

Losing your ego is terrifying but all you have to do is go with the flow and not fight it. If you fight it you are in for a very long and terrifying ride.

Im actually still quite undecided about my belief system. To this day I've never been to church, neither has my father or mother I was raised that being a good person is all the religion one needs. I feel that is what made the experience soo frightening it brought out many thoughts/concepts/images that I was soo unfamiliar with. If anything the experience made me a believer that there is something else out there. Then again I was 16 at them time soo I truly wasn't ready for it all, everything I was experiencing was sooo foreign to me.

I'd like to add after thinking about it for a while, the best way to describe ego lose for me was feeling the very essence of vulnerability. in retrospect the trip was benificial in many ways since then I've felt less self centered and more open to the "human experience", it took the "I" in me down a notch, not gently but still needed none the less. I also became much more appreciative of the most basic things in life, like being able to think/function, love for nature and others,and the comfort ones ego provides.

In terms of physical health effects, shrooms are among the safest drugs out there. But simply in terms of how fucked up you get while high on them, I'd say that mushrooms hold their own among the "hard" drugs.
