is this the next evolution of action sports video? Or will this suck major balls if it goes mainstream and everybody is watching the x games/ Olympics with VR headsets thinking they're a real skier.

Just to clear up this is about GoPro recently announcing they've acquired Kolor a VR and spherical imaging tech company. The intent is clear from the 2nd video why they're investing in them and what they want to do with the VR stuff there's another video with the skate team it'll probably show up after that one.
