When you try to make a nice educated response on a thread, adding pictures, making sure your grammar is good, being helpful, friendly, ect, and you get no karma. Like I used to try and make helpful answers, but I get no where on the k+ scale. Thats why recently you've seen nothing but retarded threads from me. Lol. And when I say k+ to good responses, I actually give k+ . So anyone that can relate, comment, whatever, ya get a + k. If you manage to post something clever or funny, you will receive 5 k+ points. .. Go!
You should care more about making quality posts to enhance the community, spread knowledge and express a new opinion to inspire other to people share theirs. Doing this for simple k points is taking advantage of the whole system; always expecting to get something in return for doing a favor will never result in you being happy, unless the favors are sexual.

Recently IN MY OPINION NS has went extremely far south as far as positive and helpful posts in threads. Theres just tons of kids talking shit, and just cluttering useful information into their endless meaningless useless banter, so I think this might be why members arnt receiving adequate "Karma" for their helpful posts. People just dont have time anymore to sift through pages of mind numbing nonsense.

OP, if you like helping people, do that. If you like writing thoughtful responses, do that. If you care about your karma, there are better ways to get it than by trying to convince people in NSG to give it to you by posting self-defined 'good' responses and waiting for people to appreciate them.

For real though, I completely know what you're talking about. I don't know why people even chase karma, it really doesn't have any value. Maybe it's just our human obsession with success, karma is a number that represents contributed content multiplied by rating that we associated with success. Easiest way to get upvotes on forums is being a dick representing the popular opinion of NS or being funny.
Most people come to NS for entertainment which could also make sense, but these typical NS "12-year-old" responses should really stop if they are just for getting an online reputation. A lot of the hostility is towards people who aren't well acquainted with NS which is really idiotic because it gives them the impression that we're all assholes.

You basically just explained my life, I want to be successful ya know? And yes like you said some may have an obsession with k+ as I do. Heck John you just turned my ns life around. From this point on I'm gonna stop Caring about karma and just try to have a good time here on ns .
As we transition into the summer I would forget the idea of getting any helpful responses. But seriously you just have to look for the knowledgeable people on this site, there is always people here willing to help out
After a couple years on NS you'll stop looking at your karma and realize that nobody else looks at it either. Make good posts so you can educate people and enhance the quality of the forums, not to raise some arbitrary internet number
