Hey NS, so i need a bit of help. I'm a junior in high school, and I'm taking two classes at a tech college this summer. The classes I'm taking are Economics and Written Communications. Are these general classes in college? I've already taken Econ in hs as it is a general graduation requirement.
Yes, both econ and written communication are required classes for your freshman college year. Please be sure that the courses you take, also the college you take them at will transfer to another university or college in the state where you plan to matriculate(complete your studies). There is a website at each university that lists the transfer requirements for incoming students, check that, and if there is any concern talk to the university entrance counselor before taking your tech college classes. Nothing worse than spending time in a class you will need to repeat for transfer issues.
^Theyre not necessarily required, it depends on what field you go into. For instance, Econ isn't necessarily required as an engineering student, though it might fill some elective.
OP, you should take the classes if you're interested in them and think you might want to explore similar areas as a full time college student. You'll get great perspective that others won't have that will help you figure out what you want to study.
