also, i'm going to one of my favorite artist's concert in a few months, and I got meet and greet tickets. i want to get them a really funny gift....any ideas? i got to see matisyahu last January in an extremely small and intimate venue. it was fantastic.
Ive seen a lot of rappers Nas, Kanye, Outkast, Kendrick, JCole, Chance, Earl, Joey Badass, Talib Kweli, Raekwon, Tyler, Public Enemy, Schoolboy Q, Ab Soul, A$AP rocky to name a few
A few I still definitely need to see include Jay Z, MF DOOM, Meth/Red and Jay Electronica
NS mac demarco dick riding needs to stop. Like he is cool and his music is pretty good but not worth creaming yourself over. there are so many better indie artists.

Badbadnotgood's collab with ghostface isn't their best album. Listen to velvet, boogie no. 69, hedron, and cs60, they're much better than the ghostface collab.

Kick rocks. For one they're a sick jazz group and their solo stuff is awesome. On top of that they do sick collabs with people like ghostface, freddie gibbs, earl and MF DOOM all rappers who have escaped the mold of shitty hip hop in todays day and age and are trying to do stuff that's musically different and creative. If you think that's for teenybopper n00bz ur a fucking clown and you know it

Not sure if same kick rocks but I saw them a few years ago. The one with barber, greenfield from lotus, and I think eli from dopapod.

I've already got moe. tickets. Should be a great time. Probably hitting both, just not 100%sure if I'll be back this summer to use my moe.s
OH.HollidayMeanwhile Vampire Weekend is at the top of your "indie" playlist, they just won a grammy u cunt
Lol please find me an album by badbadnotgood that compares to Modern Vampires of the City... Oh wait there isn't one. Sonically and lyrically Vampire Weekend is staggeringly superior to badbadnotgood. Just because their music has been recognized as being good and they won a "best alternative" album grammy doesn't mean they aren't indie. Vampire Weekend is signed to XL records, which is an independent label so yeah they are indie. You nub.

indie is more of a sound than a concept. i think it's ridiculous how some people say ITS NOT INDIE IF EVERYONE'S HEARD THEM

I'm not even saying I dislike Vampire Weekend, in fact I've seen them live. What I am saying is BadBadNotGood is also very talented and certainly not a "teenybopper noob" genre by any means and I was implying if anyone was considered that vampire weekend fits the bill far more considering their immense popularity
ginI'm jealous!!!
This weekend I get to see The Avett brothers, Band of Horses, Wilco, Cage the Elephant, The Flaming Lips, Pixies, Paramore, Wale, PFUNK, and John Fogerty (creedence guy)
Saw Modest Mouse like a week ago
Oh and I've met miley Cyrus haha we went to her soundcheck party, not a big fan but still sort of cool
i don't think it worked but this is a picture of me with a singer of Cage the Elephant at a concert on the beach last summer for Dew Tour. I was walking around on the beach after the concert and saw a group of like 10 people so I went over to see what was going on and they were all talking to him lol I got to talk to him 1 on 1 for like 5 minutes, really weird but cool dude.
I've seen Sublime with Rome, Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, Stephen Marley, G. Love & Special Sauce, Dirty Heads, Cage the Elephant, System of a Down, Shakira, Avril Lavigne, Aer, and pretty soon here I'll b heading to the Dear Jerry tribute concert to see tons of Grateful Dead influenced musicians, so excited!
ginEven if u don't listen to the flaming lips and have a chance to see them you should
Amazing
The last time I ever tripped was at a flaming lips show in main in 2010. I got some weird stuff, some people fucked with me and I freaked out. Never actually made it through the gate of security into the main venue. Was too scared to go through the line. Instead hid under somebodies tiny disco ball in the rv park right outside. Besides it was a way better light show. Kind of a rough night though.

My uncle used to work with a couple production companies and he would tape concerts and music festivals for tv channels like palladia and such and he'd take me along a lot to meet bands.
I've had conversations with Eddie Vedder from pearl jam and Jack Johnson and Dave Matthews. Shook Dave Grohl's hand which was one of the best experiences of my life. Sat and hung out backstage for a bunch of shows, pretty lights, avett brothers, dirty heads, got to hang out in the artist section all of vibes a couple times. Shit was great but he got hired under MTV recently and he doesn't take me to too many cool shows anymore :(
