if you've gone to a meet and greet, let's see pictures! i want to be jealous!!


also, i'm going to one of my favorite artist's concert in a few months, and I got meet and greet tickets. i want to get them a really funny gift....any ideas? i got to see matisyahu last January in an extremely small and intimate venue. it was fantastic.

I don't really fan out that much about artists. Its very cool to have a conversation with them about their art, but asking for autographs or whatever just seems weird to me. Also, most shows I go to the bands hang out at their merch booths after the sets anyways so its not that crazy to get to meet them.

Met a lot of people in jambands but nobody cares about that.

Breaking benjamin, 3 days grace and seether were the only more mainstream bands I ever got to chill with. Did 4 shows when they were touring together because a friend of mine at the time was good friends with the bassist from bb. Have a picture with shaun morgan thats pretty sweet but couldn't find it easily on facebook. Got it on a computer at my parents house but whatever. That was pretty sweet though. The guys from 3days grace were checkin out some of my snerrberd vids.

Only picture I could easily dig up was jambands. At camp bisco a few years ago I closed up my friends drum shop and started to walk back to my camp. Saw another friend with his acoustic bass, we decided to jam. Another friends with a djembe rolled up, and then Barber the guitarist from the Disco Biscuits walked by, grabbed a guitar that somebody had set down and started to play with us. Was pretty awesome to jam with somebody like that, at their festival, at 2 or 3 am. Really memorable moment for me.

I got invited to be one of the stage dancers for a Flaming Lips concert a few years back. After watching the opener we headed back stage, met the band, got stuck into Yo Gabba Gabba outfits, then made fools of ourselves throughout the set dancing badly in front of a massive crowd while other shenanigans involving a bear costume, lots of confetti and a massive hamster ball occured.

Meeting Puddle of Mudd during a meet and greet in Kuwait returning from the desert. The show they put on was horrible and meeting them was awkward because you can tell they didn't want to be there. But you need to take my perspective into place, just finished a 7 month deployment, excited to be home, yada yada and one guy is just breaking a smile. They probably feel just as awkward meeting all of these Sailors/soldiers. Good on them for coming to entertain us though.

May 23rd= Eric Church in Bozeman
June 25th-27th= Uncle Cracker, Randy Rogers and lots more country at Headwaters Country Jam in Three Forks
June 30th= Brand New in Minneapolis
July 23-26th= Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Keb' Mo', Ryan Bingham, Turnpike Troubadours, and much more at Red ants Pants Festival in White Sulfur.

I got to see Clockwork Indigo and Joey Bada$$ this winter which were both amazing, but I'm really hoping to see some dope electronic shows, ideally Griz, Gramatik or Pretty Lights.

I've seen Santana with Derek Trucks opening for him. Saw Eric Clapton 2 years after that. Of those two I think Santana put on a better show, plus Trucks came out to play with him at the end which was mind blowing to see. Clapton was absolutely incredible too.

Every year in Minnesota we have Soundset which is a hip hop festival. There I've seen Nas, Snoop Dog, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q, Joey Bada$$, Doomtree, P.O.S. Brother Ali, Atmosphere, Prof, Juicy J, and many many more.

I got to meet Corb Lund in nyc and this was huge for me at the time! He was all I listened to on deployment and his music made me feel at home. Seeing him live was the tits. He was a real chill guy and actually wanted to be having a convo. It wasn't fake or forced at all. He had so many questions for me being a submariner that I could barely ask him anything

yeah its not just metal I guess just anything outside the mainstream
when I go to a show I'm 3ft away from the artist and I can ask them anything I want. when my girlfriend goes to a show she watches from hundreds of feet away and would have to wait hours by the bus to get a high five

Yeah it's really all about the size of the band and the size of venue. I just don't go to metal shows at all really so I didn't know if there was something about that scene that I didn't know about.

Nice. I've seen every band you posted there multiple times. Protest and btbam are both at 6, but probably should be higher. Missed a couple of their shows here and there. Awesome dudes for sure. Got to talk to Luke a couple times as well as Dan from btbam.

I went and saw Odesza, Hayden James, and Ambassaduers last year. That was one of the best concerts I've been to, pretty small venue and they killed it.

Idk, I feel like giving them a gift is kind of weird unless it's bring some weed or party favors to get down on with them.


Since we're supposed to brag I think I've gotta be approaching 500 concerts. Depending on what could even be past that no idea. If I had a got a check for all the money I've spent on music it would be a fuck ton of money. Just the tickets alone, not even the travel expenses or anything else spent at shows.

That said I would never take back those experiences. Money well spent imo.

Also tons of free concerts out there. Jambase(might not still be) was always good for finding shows in your are or place you're going. Check the websites for your favorite bands once in a while for tourdates. Find out if your town/city or any near you have a free summer concert series. Many do. Some the bands are decent, some get HUGE names and it's free or dirt cheap.

Lot's of stuff out there, lots of cool people to meet.

yeah the other good thing is that they're almost constantly touring. hoping to see btbam again in august.

This weekend I get to see The Avett brothers, Band of Horses, Wilco, Cage the Elephant, The Flaming Lips, Pixies, Paramore, Wale, PFUNK, and John Fogerty (creedence guy)

Saw Modest Mouse like a week ago
Oh and I've met miley Cyrus haha we went to her soundcheck party, not a big fan but still sort of cool

so far the best concert I have been to was metallica. Also I was at warped Tour 06 and met all the guys from protest the hero(I know it's not that big of a deal), before they were as big as they are now.

I saw theory of a deadman for free when I was down in Madison, WI. It was pretty good. The people who stood around me kinda ruined it because it was all the scrubs with their e cigs and monster energy attire.

Saw Smash Mouth and Blues Traveler last summer which was awesome. Few months back saw Doomtree, Dem Atlas, Prof, and St. Paul Slim. Just the other week saw Brother Ali. Live music is the shit. Even when I don't know who the hell a band is I will usually just go to cheap shows to see people play, sometimes they are good, sometimes not. But the atmosphere is always fun

I spend more money on concerts than anything and have been to tons of shows with a huge list, but I'll narrow it down to some of the best I've been to. (Most of them go with me grabbing the setlist then trying to get it signed by the band or someone cool)

Said the whale, santana, neil young, we are the city, van halen, paul simon, macklemore, postal service, passenger, dan mangan, new pornos, bedouin soundclash, RAA, the national, local natives, phoenix, buck 65, death cab, SOHN, cut copy, childish gambino, girl talk, metric, vampire weekend, current swell, madeon, schoolboy q, kendrick, outkast, eminem, atmosphere, modest mouse, chance the rapper, RL grime, arctic monkeys, arcade fire

I saw Hawrthorne heights, all american rejects, fall out boy, and from first to last(skrillex's band) together when I was 14. Not even ashamed. A concerts a concert. Not the best I ever went to but better than sitting at home.

Who care. I'm sure I could think of some other heinous concerts I've attended. YOLO

Hell yeah, they killed it. It was at some huge outdoor concert that I didnt even know about till like an hour before when my buddy asked if I wanted to go. It was $15 and we managed to get to the 3rd row in a crowd of 1000+
