I don't live in Baltimore. I'm not black. I'm not poor. I've never been 'targeted' by the cops for any reason. And thus I don't think I have the authority to weigh in on the subject. Pretty much no one on NS fits that demographic. I don't think anyone on NS can truly understand or internalize the experiences of living life in a poor city.
As someone who has legitimatley experienced everything on that list other than the Baltimore part, any time I have ever tried to seriously talk about this issue on NS, it turns into RACISM DOESNT EXIST AT ALL AT ANY LEVEL SHUT UP BLACKIE. Unless someone is calling me a nigger, but that's ok, you get used to it. It just makes you feel like dirt, but if it makes the white people feel better that's great.
That's why I'm ending my kill all white's campaign, and replacing it with the real solution. Re-enslave all blacks. Boom, problem solved, white people don't have to feel bad, hardworking rural small businesses owners will make more money and be able to put food on the table.

you really need to work on those punchlines. Your sarcasm and jokes are not funny. Actually sound more mean spirited. Whatever point you're attempting to get across is missing far left...

if it was a joke you'd be laughing. I genuinely want a safer, stabler, slave filled country.

that's not a solution. what fucking good are slaves that don't do any work? at that point they're just another mouth to feed....so really not all that different than the way things are now.
Nine pages on this Baltimore event and yet not one mention of the NYPD officer (white) that died today after being shot in the head by a black man in Queens Village. 25 years old and killed trying to make his city a safer place for everyone else. If Brian Moore had shot this black man, their would be outcries across the country and NYC would probably be burnt to the ground by now, but most of you probably haven't even heard about it because no one wants to create a headline about a black criminal (already spent 8 years in jail for attempted murder) murdering a white police officer. It's really sad that when a black man accidentally (or hell, even if it was on purpose, which I clearly don't think it was) dies at the hands of the police, it's nationwide news for weeks, but when a white NYPD officer is murdered by a black man, barely anyone cares.
It's really sad how all of you talk down about the police and say all of these disgusting things about them, yet they put their lives on the line each and every day and never know if they are going to make it home to their family. Sometimes unfortunate things happen to the people (usually criminals) they are arresting, but don't forget that a lot of times, horrible things happen to them as well.

RIP Officer Moore
Is NS supposed to create a thread about everyone that dies in the country? The thread and discussion are about a greater social movement in the country. Saying horrible things about police? Like how they shouldn't use excessive force to the point of killing someone? How dare we say such things!!! I respect the death of the police officer, and this may sound shallow, but that's a risk and possibility you have to accept in law enforcement.
People have a right to be outraged when a cop unjustly kills or injures somebody.

But someone getting arrested doesn't assume a similar risk and possibility when resisting arrest or assaulting an officer? And people shouldn't be equally outraged when a person unjustly kills an officer?
My point wasn't that we should make a thread about everything, it's to look at the threads that are actually made. Everyone seems to care about the instances when someone being arrested gets injured or killed, but no one cares about the 100+ officers that are killed a year trying to protect people like you. Why isn't there a greater social movement to protect those that protect us?

What social movement do you suggest then? More police training? Maybe telling people not to shoot officers? There's literally nothing society can do to protect officers.

I don't know what we can do or if there even is anything we can do. It seems like horrible things will always happen, but I just hate seeing a good 25 year old kid with his whole life in front of him killed trying to protect his city.

The attack was most likely a revenge attack on all the police brutality and racism towards blacks. So if that stopped then blacks wouldn't feel victimized by police and this shit wouldn't happen. (super general assumption) but when a cop signs up to the job they know the dangers.
Also to address your statement on how the black community would claim racism. I think the majority of the black community are smart enough to realize that shooting a dangerous armed criminal is justified. It's not like other shootings which were bullshit.

If criminals stopped harming police officers they wouldnt be so on edge with every confrontation and there would be less police brutality if everyone just complied with them. It can easily be used both ways

I'm pretty sure if blacks (or literally anyone) stopped getting arrested and resisting arrest, the police couldn't potentially hurt anyone. It's better to focus on the root issue rather than the proximate issue.

I use to live in a pretty gentrified white upper class where the only real crime that goes on is drug use and even there police abuse their powers. If you give a percentage of the country a position of authority you'll have those who abuse it. I remember my teacher telling me about a study done by a university where they made a % of participants prisoners and a % prison guards and they had to stop the experiment because the guards were abusing their power.

that study you're referring to is called the Stanford Prison Experiment. It's actually really fucking interesting to look at the psychological effects of the prisoner/guard relationship. it really shows up fucked up people are....basically, there's no hope.

Holy shit. I've been wondering what that experiment was for so long. Thanks heaps dude! But yeah people are cunts. Not all. But there needs to be a stricter rule book for police. If they can't show us respect why should we respect them?

yeah shit sucks man... But, this thread is pages long because of the varying opinions. Nobody here wants to argue of whether or not the cop should be shot. That is a no-brainer.

You're like a 3 year old trying to claim 'who started it'. That police officer didn't hurt anybody. Don't try to justify a murder.

Maybe because the amount of police officers killed per year is much smaller than the amount of citizens KILLED by police officers each year.
byuboundYou're like a 3 year old trying to claim 'who started it'. That police officer didn't hurt anybody. Don't try to justify a murder.
I'm not justifying murder, I'm explaining how blacks feel. When two NYPD officers got shot the murderer posted on twitter "they take one of ours we'll take two of theirs"
Granite_StateMaybe because the amount of police officers killed per year is much smaller than the amount of citizens KILLED by police officers each year.
Oh man, this argument leads to a slippery slope with a can of worms at the bottom. Not touching this
UglyboyI'm not justifying murder, I'm explaining how blacks feel. When two NYPD officers got shot the murderer posted on twitter "they take one of ours we'll take two of theirs"
Stupid, rich white kids on a ski forum will never understand how black people feel/their reasoning. Its like trying to convince frenchy the confederacy wasn't the best thing thats happened to America
UglyboyI'm not justifying murder, I'm explaining how blacks feel. When two NYPD officers got shot the murderer posted on twitter "they take one of ours we'll take two of theirs"
How he felt doesn't matter though. It is still murder committed against a person who never did anything to harm him.
Another quote "why isn't there a greater social movement to protect those that protect us"
Maybe because many Americans don't feel the police have their best interests in hand...
Well you're not wrong, I just think that fact is taken widely out of context seeing as the number of people who are vs are not police officers should be considered as well
.frenchyDon't be a little bitch. Can you show some class/respect for once dude? A cop just got shot in the head...
but when an officer kills an unarmed black person you say shit like "good, another criminal gone". You're so brain washed by fox news to automatically think all police do the right things. LOL
Granite_StateIts like trying to convince frenchy the confederacy wasn't the best thing thats happened to America
The fact that you think everyone on NS is a rich white kid is a fucking joke. And what the fuck is up with you and your boner for thinking I liked the confederacy? Hahahaha hop off... Yeah, the fact that I like cops makes me a white supremacist who thinks the south should rise again, you're totally right man!

Well, it is another criminal gone... Kid was a heroine dealer arrested over 20 times... I. Don't. Give. A. FUCK!
And his toxicology report showed he had multiple drugs in his system including heroine. What a good kid! Shouldn't of ran from the police either. That's why they picked him up, dumbass.

Lol, only fox news is reporting that he had heroin in his system. Fox news is so reliable when it comes to race issues!

Skiing not a sport for the lower class you dingus. So saying "rich white kids" is not so far off.
Also you have literally defended the confederacy in a previous thread. Stop being such a cock gobbler for 5 minutes and grow some thicker skin.
UglyboyIf you have excess income to afford to ski then you are rich. Unless you're a ski bum like Giray.
Dude i'm not saying i'm poor or anything but I guess me and you have 2 way different definitions for "rich".... I've been riding my skis for over 4 years now, and many people get cheap used pairs on ebay or NS... That doesn't mean you're rich LOL
UglyboyIf you have excess income to afford to ski then you are rich. Unless you're a ski bum like Giray.
well, i mean if you want to take that perspective, EVERYONE who lives in the US is rich when compared to those living in the slums of West Africa. Even those who be po' n bein' held down by da man.

Only 5% of americans considers themselves rich. And what you define as rich changes as you change income classes. When I was 16 and I had like a grand in my bank account I considered myself rich as I had more money than I needed at that time. You can define rich in numbers but every economists will give a different number. But in my mind being rich is having disposable income.

Skis, outwewear, seasons pass/lift tickets, travel too and from the mountain all that shit isnt cheap and if you say it is then you are either a ski bum or an idiot.
And you did defed the confederacy I believe in one of the gun threads. If I wasnt on my phone in class id be happy to try and find it for you

You cannot define someone's wealth by the way they prioritize skiing. There are plenty of people that live in crappy apartments and eat crappy food just because they want to ski.

Skis I bought for 200$ in 2010
Season pass I've always gotten free because either I worked at the hill or my dad has
I live 15 minutes from my hill
I'm a millionaire!!!! Every freeskier is filthy rich!!!!!!!!
UglyboyHow is that relevant in any way? But to answer your question 2.5% of Canadians are black.
Its pretty relevant cause you are acting like an expert on a problem that isn't even happening in your country. So you have probably never even been close to seeing it first hand.
