Do you shop at Walmart? Do you think they are corrupt, why or why not?

I prefer Target to Walmart. It's always a lot quicker and cleaner than Walmart; at least where I live. Everyone knows that Walmart has an issue with never having enough cash registers open, leading to long lines for no reason at all.

We walked into a Walmart in Branson, MO and found maple syrup that was 45% ethanol in the check lanes. They had more booze in that place than 10 liquor stores combined. Good prices though.

I dont know why but I always go there. The corporation is awful, they have a 80+ year old veteran who sits on his cart with his oxygen tank on and says "thank you have a nice day" everyday. Im just always within 5-10 miles of it when I need a snack or something.

i shopped there in college because everything is so much cheaper. but walmart in northern mn = fucked. so many messed up things that i saw there i dont even know where to begin

Walmarts in Southern Minnesota are also fucked up, as with every other Walmarts everywhere else.

But I would highly suggest shopping at an Aldi, best grocery store ever.

I always go to Target. I can't stand how dirty Walmart is. Not to mention Target is just always way more organized and the quality always seems a lot better.

I fucking hate walmart with a passion. I refuse to shop there....regardless of the pricing. They treat their employees like dog shit. They rape local municipalities of tax revenue. They destroy locally owned shops...running them out of business. I could go on and on, but on mobile. Seriously though, FUCK that corporation.

Right now the Wal-Mart in my town is the only place that sells Baja mountain dew, which is delicous and cheap as fuck. Besides that I avoid it like the plague. Just is a weird place with fucked up corporate. I would rather support something else besides that. That and the fact that there was a small police stand off with a crazy dude with a jar of pickles last time I went..

I was just in there yesterday with my sister because she needed a lock for her storage unit. Walmart was much closer than Home Depot, which I suggested to her (to avoid going to Walmart)... I never go there unless I have no other choice. When I got there I asked the man who worked behind the counter in the fishing area thing where I could find locks and he says UHHRRRR IN DO IT YERSELF HYURURURURUR and the people he was helping laughed too. They were all covered in hella curved baseball hats, hunting camo and wranglers like you can kiss their country ass. It's a denizen of pure misery and retardation. I can't effing stand Walmart. I shop exclusively at Whole Foods for my groceries. Dumb people are everywhere, but Walmart just takes everything to a whole new level. Makes me feel like I am back in Guatemala, but with white people.

Not really a fan of them. They treat their employees like shit which causes them to treat customers like shit, and their prices aren't that great either. I totally get if its the only store in your area (which is a problem in its own right, they run local business out of town) and you don't have a choice, though. You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes for sure.


do what you want with your money, but I totally think you're a fucking asshole if you have plenty of money to shop at both types of places, but choose wally world over local stores and places because you want to knock a few bucks off of your receipt.

no and I never will. They're totally corrupt. They pay their employees shit even though they could easily afford much better wages, causing many workers to live in poverty. They are also extremely anti-Union and workers rights. They drive smaller businesses out of business. They are extremely greedy. (The Walton family collectively owns as much wealth as the bottom 30% of America.) conclusion: Walmart sucks

I almost never go. I think it's an incredibly shitty company that treats their employees terribly and uses its size to bully suppliers into lowering their product quality in order to be able to sell their goods at Walmart's low prices. It's cheap but everything is shittier, kind of like an extreme version of Home Depot vs a local hardware store. Companies make lower quality versions of the same products to sell cheaply at Walmart. Sure it's capitalism and they can do whatever the fuck they want, I'm just not gonna support that. I only go when I don't really have any other options or if I need shit like toothpaste that's always way cheaper than CVS

The signs are vague in some cases, DIY or Hardware could both be potential places you would find locks, plus they are large departments, it's a big store. I could take time to find where something is, or I could just ask someone, god forbid. Don't you ever ask where anything is in a store you never go to, either! Make sure you take the time to track that shit down!

I never go to Walmart unless there is no other way

You sure know how to turn not liking walmart and rude people into a big shit storm. That clerk was SO BUSY it was crazy! WHAT FOCUS HE HAS to speak to two separate parties simultaneously! and I am SUCH a lazy, privileged, prick! a lazy fuck! and how dare someone not speak with IMPECCABLE English to me! You're right, I am incapable of reading signs and I just have to project my wal mart lock finding insecurities onto others! Can you believe it?

1) Ask store employee to do his job and help customers, sometimes more than one at a time. (VERY DIFFICULT)

2) Expect courteous and coherent response (WHOA, THERE)

3) Post on Internet thread asking about relevant topic about relevant visit to Walmart and subsequent experience (BRACE YOURSELVES)

4) Be Puzzled, and be a douche

I had to return some binders or something there a couple years ago and in front of me there was this fat guy who started to rage that he overpayed like 5 cents or something stupid like that and it took like 20 minutes to clear up haha. That guy was so pissed.

I shop at Walmart now because I live in a town of 9,000 which only has one other grocery store that charges way too much. I might support a local business if the price difference was small, but most groceries are like 1.5-2x as much there and more expensive than any other full-size grocery store I've ever been to. Fuck that. When I used to live in Duluth I rarely went there though because it was way the hell on the far end of town and not convenient at all, and the other grocery stores in town were cheaper.
