so theyve been exposed to quite a bit of dirt and grime on the setup, and so now the heels wont fully click in and engage without help from my hand. it started out with one heel doing it, id stomp down, the dildo would come up about 1/4 or the way and then id have to do the rest by hand. then the other side started doing the same thing. whenever i stomp on them to get out of the binding, the right side heel makes this little screeching noise. has anyone had this happen or whats the deal.the FP is set correctly, and i tried spraying everything out, and still didnt make a difference. what should it do? note i did get these bindings used but have had no problems with them till now.
mine have been doing the same for a full season now, they still work fine and ive never had them release at bad times or anything. i think they're fine and you should keep riding them
Chances are you hve just got dirt in the pivot. Mine did do the same over the years. If you want to be sure they are good just tale them to a shop and you can have the release values tested. They are probably fine but it's nice to know for sure.
Had the same problem -minus the screeching noise- with my marker's before. It was a forward pressure issue that was sorted as soon as my FP was set properly. The noise you described makes me think it's dirt or something clogged somewhere in the heel piece unit, you can clean this out yourself, or if you're at all unsure about anything, as always take them down to a trusted local shop.
My heel is a little sticky also, but another thing i noticed was that they are fitting loosely on my boots i can visually see and feel my boots shaking in them. The contact points on the heel seem to have worn down. Anyone else have this issue?

Contact points on mine have always been pretty shaky, but they've held up just fine. Id say it's not a big deal but it's hard to say

This is pretty common with the axial, if your boot heel is worn down beyond ISO standard the binding wont engage all the way without you having to lift it up. I would get your boot heels replaced and see if that fixes the problem

they dont have any of their techs in during the summer and they could care less about skiing rn, theyre big into the mtb crowd. and ive just been riding the kittens on the setup and i like the kittens about a million times better. but im still wondering if these things are shot or not.

I would say just keep riding them till they break :/
They do look pretty worn out. The pivot is certainly binding quite a bit an really I probably would not ski them. They won't be offering consistent releases. If you can't take them to a shop maybe leav them until you can.
Biggest problem with the Axial 2. I hardly see any pairs out there now that do not do this. All of our demos sucked, they all did this and I had many people come into the ski shop with the same problem. The Axial 3 is a huge improvement.
Probably part of the issue is that you keep rinsing them. I'd say you've washed all the grease out of the pivot, or that you've made sure any grit and dirt was well and truly forced into there. Same reason you don't hose the hubs and driveline of a bike at high pressure.
If you completely disassembled them, re-packed the pivot with a good lithium grease then reassembled them properly they would probably be ok, unless the insides have been totally scored out by you continuing to thrash them when they clearly had an issue. You would want to get the release values checked by a shop before riding them.
I wouldn't keep riding them as they are. If they're that hard to get into then the release is going to suck large balls.
Get Full Tilts, those will fix anything, but anyways I have had problems with my heel piece too on I think they were the axial the super heavy and shitty ones right? They never got to that point but it was a struggle, then the base broke on the heel piece, I got the new part for it so now they are just the binding for my urban ski. I didn't help you what so ever but I'm really tired and felt like talking to someone.

It's ok dingus :) and yea they're the heavy ones and mine are pretty crappy. It seems to be pretty common Among the axial 2s.
