Jared Leto has just been revealed as the joker for the new suicide squad movie. Shit looks like it's going to be the craziest most fucked up joker yet.

I really like it. It's a cool twist on the Joker. I'm curious to see how he does. He's got some big shoes to fill. (Get it, he's a clown, but also the last joker was really good.)

I don't like it either. I think it's the tattoos, they're pretty ridiculous. The J face tat, the Cheshire Cat grin and the hahahaha are particularly stupid looking. It also looks like he's sporting a grill.

it's a different joker with a different story line for the suicide squad movie, it's not supposed to be the same character as the dark knight's joker. taken from a different comic/novel/whatever
Barefootin_Fiendno one can top heath ledger's joker. ever. that performance was absolutely fucking amazing. about as close to perfection as humanly possible.
To be frank and many will disagree with me. Heath Ledger's joker is overrated, not bad by any means, very good even, it's excellent. However his untimely, premature death has led to an inflation of his performance. Not going to write on essay on his performance now.
I still remember that when Ledger was slated to play the joker people doubted him. And now we have the same doubt, Jared is a great actor -who I still want to punch in the face, nothing personal-. We'll see how he has done, when the movie comes out.
I'm more worried about Delevingne, besides having excellent qt bushy brows and that seductive English accent, I've never seen her act properly.

Yeah he looks a lot more like the Joker in "Killing Joke" which is an entirely different story and style. I think Leto will nail it, and I'm looking forward to the film. Margo Robbie as Harley Quinn is reason enough to see it.

Most models have that, it's the most aesthetic face you can pull. Strong brow game is best brow game. And she scrubs up nicely, but it's the acting that worries me.

i agree that heath ledger was a phenomenal joker, i mean some of his best and most memorable parts were improvised.
i just wanna know why they would get rid of the #1 plot about the joker - the scars.
they're far too obvious. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA" all over the place and "Damaged" on his forehead isn't crazy at all. refer to the photo of ben affleck with the equivalent for batman that i posted.
also about the scars. not all of the Joker's origin stories involve scars. the particular one this Joker is based on is totally different to the Dark Knight's. the Joker in the original Batman film that Jack Nicholson played didn't have scars either
Just a little fun fact from the comics, at one point joker gets his face beaten in by batman and gets his teeth fucking destroyed. i think the fillings are a sort of reference to that. I personally think that leto is gonna do a great job. His work in Requiem, Dallas Buyers Club, mr. nobody, and lord of war all show the insane talent he has. Also saw a cool vid of him doing a kurt cobain impression where he even took the time to learn the guitar lefty for a 3 min vid. Seems like a really dedicated actor, im sure he is pumped to get to play such an iconic character

After watching it and having a few days to contemplate whether I will like the new joker or not I think I have come to the conclusion that they are fairly close to a great joker just in my opinion they should have changed a few things. First I really like the New jokers laugh. It's as if he is in agony to laugh.
Things they should have changed. His hair, I think that while it is fairly bright green it should have been like maybe a little darker or at least a days wash or something.
Next thing, I think the grill is just a shitty addition.
The tattoos are kind of an interesting choice and I'm not so much pissed off that they gave him tattoos as I am pissed off at how clean and fake they look. What I would have liked to see is if he had done the tattoos to himself so if the tattoos looked a little more shitty I think they could be a good fit if they were done right.
Another would be the the make up. It seems kind of lazy to me. It's kind of neat that it's closer to a real skin tone, but what I don't like is that it just looks like he is wearing shitty makeup on his face. One thing I will say positive about his makeup is that they got a pretty decent colour for his lips.
Lastly I think they could have done a bit of a better if the joker was skinnier.
I'm starting to slowly warm up to this new Joker, but the only way I can really decide is after watching the movie to be a fair judgement. Maybe the whole look will fall into place in the movie, but as it stands right now I'm thinking the new joker's going to be a bit of a disappointment. Movie looks like it might be ok.
