Yeah don't go marker at all.

I'd go FKS/look over marker if those are your options. Also, take a look at STH2. Super durable, easy to fix if it happens to break, and the elasticity is actually greater than the FKS/look.

So all in all, I'd go STH2, but if that isn't an option, go FKS/look!

Yea sth are easier to replace brakes, but out of my markers, axials, and fks. I have had by far the smoothest release is out of my fks. The turntable heel just is way smoother of a release for me, but if you break a brake, it sucks to replace and put back on.

I have trusted the plastic toe that rossi/look has put out over the years with its full 180 degree release but in general any company will generally work for you. Just ride your din's lower to save your knees but you will run the risk of having a pre release on a number that is low. You pretty much have to find a din number you are comfortable with on your own otherwise as a tech I'm just gonna go by the chart for legal reasons.

I have always been between a 8 or 10 depending upon where I'm skiing. I am 5'7" 140 pounds and type III +. I like the rear piece on the look/FKS, but is it the smoothest side release and most accurate on the market?

definetly do not get markers lol, I have fks and they are so smooth and next years pivots have a sliding afd just like marker does so they will probably even more smooth then.

This. Turn it down a notch or two and take it easy for the first month or two.

But the STH2 and FKS are the best bindings on the market. Usually people will have a personal preference about one....so if you haven't tried either, you with probably be happy with both.

Sorry to break it to you but a nice toe release won't do much/anything to help protect a dodgy ACL.

That said, for the cleanest toe release around, I'd probably say FKS180 (or 155s) followed by STH.
